To Kill A MockingBird~
Filed Under book, movie | 8 Comments
I have came across this title many times before, whether it was from reading a book or watching a movie. And yeah, I have to admit I have no idea what the story was about.
But I was curious about it as the title was rather cute, or dangerous. And thus I finally downloaded the movie.
It was an old movie alright. In fact it was in black and white! And so I wasn’t very keen of watching it and kept it for a few months.
But as I was quite boring last week, I thought maybe I could have a quick view on what was it about. But when I started on the movie, I couldn’t stop till I finish watching it!!
It was really an exceptional and inspiring movie. No wonder it ranked no.2 by the American Film Institute on the 100 Most Inspiring Movies of All Time in 2006 and ranked as the #25 Greatest Movie of All Time in 2007!
It was about a lawyer who defended a black man when he was accused of raping a white girl during the 1930s in a racial era. It was also about two children and the discrimination of the black and mentally retarded people. I love the little girl, Mary Badham who acted so well in the movie.
I am glad I watched it. Now I am hoping to read the novel itself as it is a best book ever written. =)
Rate : 4 stars!
Have you watched/read it yet?

Heavenly Couture~
I found out about the great Isetan membership presales again when my colleagues shoved me the catalogue of the sale. I really hope I could drop by for a quick visit as I think I could do with another pair of jeans.
But too bad my weekend was fully planned and I couldn’t go even though the prices were so tempting!
Another friend who loves online shopping recommended me to visit Heavenly Couture as their clothes are very fashionable and most importantly the price is exceptionally low! All their clothes start from only $17.95 or less which is awesome!
Apart from that, they also have daily special with one item selling at incredible price of only $9.99!
What’s more, they are having a special denim clearance sales and every single piece are only priced at $13.80. I am thinking of getting some cheap jeans for myself. A Destroyed Light Wash Denim Mini skirt and a pair of Dark Blue Denim jeans.

Browsing through the variety of clothing, I must say I am impressed with their range of fashions and styles. It is really an affordable online shopping boutique of discount clothes with great quality. Teen clothes are also available for students and the price is certainly affordable to them.

RM2 Sushi King Promotion on Kaiten Belt 2009 ~
Filed Under photo, food | 11 Comments
I suddenly thought of it early this October. It was suppose do be every Sept and March/April. But this year I didn’t hear of it. None. Have I missed it? Oh no… O.O
I have been religiously celebrating it for about 3 years already, twice a year. And I just couldn’t wait for it to come again.
And then I do what I do best, I googled : RM2 Sushi King Promotion Bonanza 2009 on Kaiten Belt. Yes, RM2 for a plate of sushi of rice based!
And ah, I found it! What a relief. I suppose they have postponed it to October instead of the usual September due to the fasting month for Muslim.
After a tipping of PinkCotton from her blog, I decided to get Sushi King membership for Year 2009 myself! Yay!
And do not miss great event of cheap sushi. I will pounce at those yummy unagi and prawns and let’s forget about cholesterol for a while. It will be a reason for us to meet up again, me & my girls. ^.^
The auspicious date is from 13 – 15 Oct 08 for West Malaysia and 20-23 Oct 08 for East Malaysia. Can’t wait!
P/S : And for a taste of dark and twisted (if you ain’t get enough from my previous post), do check out this cool set ‘I Destroy Angel’ pictures which is the highlight of PhotoKaki.com forum, Malaysia’s Top Photography Forum.

Whirling In My Head..
Filed Under friend, me, life | 12 Comments
I just felt like writing, churning down my thoughts in words and publish them. In fact there is so much that I want to write, whirling around my head.
But every time I started typing, I deleted them all and closed my word editor, again.
Some things are not meant to be published.
Some things are not proper to be disclosed publicly.
Some things confided to me I have to keep them sealed
Some things I have to face instead of running away, again.
Some things I have to admit instead of pointing fingers.
And thus, this pointless post where I so want to dislodge all the secrets, negativity and bitterness but I couldn't.
Monday morning, I am back to office. But I sort of glad I did. I could run away. I pulled those dear ones near to me again. And exchange news I did. And I see that my life isn't the only chaotic one. And I got a blessing from her. And I wish I could help her to decide and pull her away from her tangled web. And I’ll be there for her when there is no one around. And rocking the world like he did. Or didn't he?
This is life perhaps. At least I am still alive. That's what I always try to remind myself, of the friend that passed away. I think of her face, her laughter and the way she spoke. She didn't get a second chance. I still try to grasp the fact of it even after about 6 weeks. When it ends, it ends. Period.
Everything is ok if you are still breathing, there are still things you can do and make it right. Or so I told myself.
And yes, I am still at stage 1. And so are you, rocker! I know :)

It is rainy season again due to the Emperor Gods Festival or otherwise famously known as the “Kau Wong Yeh” festival. It wasn’t a festival that I celebrated as a child or when I have grown up.
It was something very unfamiliar to me as I do not know what it is all about. But I have heard that to some people it is grand festival.
KW brought me to the Kau Wong Yeh festival in Ampang after work on Friday. When I reached there, I realise that I have been to there before a few years back. But I couldn’t recall who did I go with and when.

It drizzled a little when we reached and the place was kinda muddy. There were many stalls there selling all kind of stuffs, from colourful candies, to wind chimes, incense, red bun tortoise for prayers offering, bracelets, fengshui stalls and even Maxis were there. Of course there were plenty of food stalls selling vegetarians food and other delicacy.

Besides that, there were many old beggars begging for me money as well. I was informed that the temple was next to a huge old folk’s home. I felt sorry for them as there were so old and still have to beg for money at the last few years of their lives. What are the stories behind them?

Anyway, we had some expensive and not so yummy vegetarian food and also yummy yau-char-kuai that were sold there. We didn’t pray as we were told that you have to be vegetarian for a whole day before praying there (not sure if it is true).
Anyway it is quite an experience. =)

Typing Speed?
I pride myself for being able to type at 90 words per minute! Alright, that might be my highest record and I have not able to achieve it since then. But today as I kept testing my speed of typing, I am quite disappointed as after 5 rounds of test, I could only managed to hit 78 words per minute! I couldn’t deny being a little nervous and jittery when taking the Dragon’s typing speed test! which resulted in a poor performance. Or maybe it’s the keyboard? ![]()

If you think my typing speed is slow, I assure you that most of my friends do type slower than me! Some at 30 – 50 words per minute even though they have to use the computer and do typing everyday for emails, reports, documents and even instant messaging.
But with Dragon Naturally Speaking software from Nuance, I could effectively improve my speed as much as 194% as it types as I speak. The accuracy of the software is 99% compare to my lousy 71%. The software turns voice into text which spares you from typing at slow speed and saves you a lot of time!
If I type 6000 words per day, I could easily spend a whopping 42.8 hours a month or 21.7 days a year for typing only.I could use that precious time to sleep!
The software is supported in both PC and Mac but I’ll certainly be using the PC version as I use pc at work and home. Well, now I can save a lot of time preparing report for work and blogging at home. Do check out the Dragon Reviews for more information .

What Am I Reading & Watching.
Filed Under book, movie | 9 Comments
Thanks to Yun for recommending comedy drama Lipstick Jungle to me. I have watched the first episode of Season 1 and I’ve approved to download the rest of them! ^.^

I am done reading ‘The Bitch Goddess Notebook’ last week. It was dark. Nothing like the happy ending book I always read. A little depressing book on lives that really happened to real people but didn’t get much attention like the fairy tales and happy ending lives.
Now I am starting on a next book ‘Just Friends’ by Robyn Sisman. Which I suspected I have rented read it before years ago, which only means my taste of picking book ain’t differs much from last time. Back to chick lit and romance and happy ending.. My life is so pathetic..
Happy weekend. And you, stop beating around the bush. Just tell me straight.

2nd Visit To The HairDresser~
Filed Under hair, me, life | 20 Comments
It felt like Sat & Sun instead of Wed & Thurs during the 2 days Hari Raya break. On Monday I called Miko out of desperation to do rebonding as I couldn’t stand my fluffy and frizzy hair.
But my decision was well influenced when a good friend said it was too short and layered to be nice with rebonding.
And suddenly it hit me on Tuesday evening. Why not do colouring instead? My hair was pitch black and the hairdresser suspected that I dyed it black before!
And so, after getting approval from some girlfriends, I decided to change the appointment from hair rebonding to colouring on Wednesday at Miko, Prima Setapak.
Of couse, I used the 50% off chemical service which I could download for RM3.50 at Mystyle. I have used it last year for hair colouring and rebonding as well.
I was convinced opted for some dark brown for the base color and a lighter brown for highlight. I felt that the color was lighter than my previous colouring but it was more even this year round.
And the sissy hairstylist even did temporary straightening for me which I really like the effect after that. I should patiently wait another 2 months for my hair to grow before doing the rebonding. ^.^
And this time even after much persuasion, I managed to stick to my decision of no treatment. After all I didn’t really see any different with treatment after I did it on Wednesday.
The hair look OK in this picture coz it was after blowing at the hairdresser. But it doesnt look like this after I wash them coz I am lazy not good in hair blowing.
Here was my long, shiny, smooth hair before I stupidly chopped it off in March earlier this year to a short bob.

Bad Hair Year!
Filed Under hair, me, life | 14 Comments
I don’t know what’s wrong with the hairstylists. All they want is layer and shape! Even though I want straight and neat, they said it is boring. No style.
And then he couldn’t understand that I just want to thin my fringe, not on top of it. Which he stupidly did more layer for me. Even shorter. And it’s fugly. >_<
I feel depress even after splurging extra $ on the inner hair cuticle treatment which he said supposedly to tame down my frizzy, unruly hair. Crap. Ain’t no different. I felt that my Sunsilk intensive treatment which I bought at pharmacy does work better than then pricey treatment.
And to think that I have been keeping my hair for 4 months before going under the knife scissors again and he just snipped it off without second thought.
Now I felt 10 years older with the burden of frizzy hair on my head. Oh my, I even feel a little tired and aged.
It was a huge mistake to cut it short at the first place. Looking at my long, soft, straight hair in the picture doesn’t help. (/_\)
And yeah, I think I need the miracle of rebonding or straightening again.
The hell with fluffy, frizzy, layered short hair. The hells with boring straight hair that I don’t know why the hairstylists are so disapprove of.
I am going to make a different and this time, I decide!

Glasses~
Many of my colleagues thought that I am short sighted as I always wear glasses when I am in the office. Actually it is just glasses for computer radiation as I want to protect my eyes. I use the computer at least 10 hours a day on weekday and a minimum of 2 hours on weekends.
Besides, I think wearing glasses are like accessories and you could look trendy with it. But the last time I bought my spectacles was more than 5 years ago!
I am thinking to get a new pair of stylish glasses as the old one was too old fashion. But I do not want to spend too much on it as the economy is really bad at the moment.
As I have heard from Clark Howard Show, there are a wide range of eyeglasses from ZenniOptical at cost effective price, from as low as $8!
I am impressed with their range of trendy eyeglasses as they have the latest funky design to suits all taste. The prices are low as they manufacture the frames themselves thus able to maintain good quality at affordable price.
It is certainly very affordable to me and I could get a few pairs with different looks and colours to mix and match with my outfits.
