Group Events~

A new culture of group events has started when AK joined us early this year and it continued even after his sudden departure. And for the first time a department was chosen to organise it last friday and my dept was the lucky one!
We made a short video clip for the event, emphasizing on everyone has a dream and to achieve it. So each of us said ‘I have a dream’ in many different manners and meaningful message at the end. We also printed a department white T-shirt and wore together on that day. So there was waves of whites in our department, yet some negative colleagues made jokes out of it.
Besides that, we prepared light foods for tea time and a simple game of hot potatoes. We gave small gift for birthday boys & girls and those celebrating anniversary in the company. It was quite a successful event, planned within a couple of weeks! It has of course brought all of us closer and show spirit of team work!

Office napping..

I am at office at 7.49pm today, second time of the week, after nearly a year I didn’t work till 8pm. But as it is requested by my management, what the heck, here I am~
Two of my teammates and I went to buy dinner and eat in the office just now. I bought for another colleague that sat in front of me. He requested for extra rice and so I bought extra big fried rice with fried chicken for him. It was such a huge portion that the rice box was unable to be closed properly. But surprisingly he managed to finish it!
One hour after dinner, I was still doing my work. Then I glanced at that colleague of mine. Gosh, he was sleeping while facing the monitor! I saw his head nodding off (we called it fishing) many times. =O
Man, let this guy go home and sleep..
But it wasn’t the first time I saw him sleeping. He was asleep while I gave live demo presentation on my project the other day too! I wish I could fall asleep as easily as him at night. Last Friday, I nearly dozed off for at least 3 times in the meeting! Luckily no one caught me, at least I think nobody did coz nobody was looking at me when I opened my eyes.. =D

Another one leaving..

I remembered coming for work on Sat when I started working in this company and the stranger WM smiled at me. At that moment I begin to like her as she’s so friendly. But we hardly chat until lately, when the big company restructuring in end of Feb this year.
Being transferred out of our team, we understood how each other felt and stick together. That’s how our friendship started to grow closer. For the last couple of months, realizing that she’s leaving soon, we started to hang out together at work and after work very oftenly. It was really fun and spice up my life in the office..
I like her for her friendliness, always ready to help other and she’s a very considerate person..
But yesterday was her last day here. She’s pursuing her childhood dream to migrate to another country.. boy, I am going to miss her so much.
Now, left the five of us, but two are leaving in July too.. I am so dreading for August to come..

Un-Peaceful Workplace..

It is very difficult to know one’s personality if we do not liaise with them long enough. There is a lot of politic going in a particular department in my office. I always thought some of the colleagues that I often saw at the corridor washroom are nice, as we smiled politely to each other. But our path didn’t go beyond than that and I never deal with them at work level.
But obviously, people are not simple. I heard many complaints from different parties regarding each other. It makes me wonder who is right and who is wrong. But it is very hard to determine without hearing the whole stories from both parties. It could be because of communication breakdown instead. People are pointing fingers, backstabbing and putting all the blame to someone else. Some people are hurt in the process and some think they’re always right. A rather depressing situation to work in. /_\
I am just glad I am in a peaceful department. At least most of them are helpful here and I have not really heard of any ill remark of each other. Or perhaps my antenna is too short to receive them. Whatever it is, team work is really important. We do not have to love each other at work, but it would be good enough if we could work professionally as a team..

Anticipation..

La Queen is supposed to arrive today and with high anticipation (I even made up my bed this morning!), I stepped into our HEAF house at 9.15pm, expected to see her there. But boy, they said the highness has postponed the trip to our house to Thursday. After a phone call with Sean, La Queen has declared to arrive on Friday!
There’ll be a shopping and salad buffet (read : karaoke) session on this coming Saturday at One Utama, being La Queen as the main guest. Hope I’ll be able to join them as I haven’t been shopping with them for quite some time, and of course must skip the yucky salad buffet~

Back~

I am finally back, from Malacca, medical leave and finally the dentist visit. I am happy that Yun was worried about me when I didn’t online for the whole day~ The office is so cold right now, sneezing non stop.. They forgot to adjust back the air conditioner after increasing the volume for last Thursday event! >_<
Today the La Queen is coming to stay with us! Well, she is our ex-coursemate that went to UK to study PhD. She was there for a year and now came back for a month holiday. Of course I am happy to have her in our house for a week stay. She’ll be sleeping in Yit’s room on the extra mattress by Sean~
Hope she’ll enjoy her stay here. =)

Life after work~

Haven’t been pubbing or clubbing lately, six of us in office planned to go to Luna Bar, the legendary awesome bar (that only one of us had been there). But due to CL who had last minute urgent appointment, the rest of us had dinner at Kim Gary, waiting for her to come. She only managed to come at 8pm! We called to Luna bar and the outside beautiful view was closed due to raining and the inside portions was full. =S
So we headed to Bukit Bintang instead and had Izzi Pizza! Well, if you have not heard of it, I think it is rather new in KL, had quite a nice and comfy design. The food was quite good but the best thing was if you have certain credit card (standard chartered was one of them, I forgot the rest), you’ll get 50% off your total bill if you spend more than RM100. So, even after we had dinner, we ordered some snacks with our smoothies. Took some pics too~
Had a quite pleasant time there~

Working hours, halfed~

This week, for the whole 5 working days, I only work half day each. As we had live demo/training for half days from Mon to Wed.
On Thursday we have management update after lunch and meeting with senior management. On Friday, we have meeting in the morning for group update.
So, there goes my 2 and half working days and the due dates, remain..

Today I didn’t go to lunch and only eat breads as I had to go to the Public Bank at lunch time. So when the cleaner saw me at office during lunch, she asked me :
Cleaner : Tak makan ker? (Aren’t you taking your lunch)
Me : Makan roti. (Eat bread only)
Cleaner : Kenyang ker? (Will you be full?)
Me : Makan banyak banyak roti! (Eat a lot of breads!)
Cleaner : (speechless and continue vacuuming her floor..)

Me & Coffee~

To prove to myself that I am not addicted to coffee, I decided not to drink it for a couple of days starting from last Thursday. Normally nearly every day, I will take a cup of coffee in the morning to kick start the day! On top of that, sometimes I take Nescafe when my head couldn’t handle the overwhelming sleepiness after lunch~
I succeeded for the first four days from Thurs till Sunday without caffeine (except for that tiny bit of Nescafe on Sat morning and coffee ice cream on Sat afternoon and tea on Sunday morning)! A very good start I think! 
I thought to continue for a week, or longer.. I heard it takes 3 weeks to break a habit. But today, a usual blue Monday, I practically drag myself out of the bed and couldn’t forsake my coffee as I have to attend 3 hours of presentation in the morning! Darn.. 
So, I’ve broken my almost-no-coffee-rituals~ To be continued again on Thursday I hope, maybe it is easier to abandon coffee when it is reaching the weekend~ ^.^

My favourite food~

Oooh.. I am so honoured when I saw a message from Bokjae at MyBlogLog. He tagged me for the My Favourite Food. ^.^ Well, I’ve seen it at others blog and gave a brief thought about what I really like but I brushed it off before I could think of my very favourite food.
Let’s see.. I like variety a lot, not sticking to the same food for a long period of time. And after a few thought, I think I know what I really like to eat, yeah, satay celup! It is only available in Malacca and not other states (as far as I am concern).
Satay celup is eaten with hot, delicious peanut gravy that is boiled in a pot at the middle of the table. Yeah, kinda special and it is so very delicious~ There is many kind of food that you can dip into the tasty gravy, for example prawns, hotdog, fishballs, meatballs, vegetables, etc~
Yummy, make me drool now just thinking of it~
