Enchanted~
Filed Under movie | 8 Comments
Well, I didn’t really want to watch the movie but since it is highly recommended by SWei and some friends, I decided to ditch The Golden Compass (which was lowly rated by my housemates but now after reading the reviews from other bloggers, I might want to watch it!).
It was really a fairy tale, a mixed between animations and real people in modern world. And my favourite Grey Anatomy’s leng zai (handsome guy), McDreamy was leading in the movie, Patrick Dempsey! But he ain’t that romantic in the movie though. Fancy buying a boring book for his 6-year-old girl!
The movie is very creative, very fairy tale (I cannot emphasized enough) and quite funny. Perhaps I have too high expectation on the movie as they said it is funnier than StarDust. Somehow I still prefer the movie StarDust than Enchanted, maybe coz of expectation thingy, you see. I didn’t have much expectation on StarDust and it turned out to be very nice for me.
Anyway, overall it is a nice, romance and comedy movie, with cruel stepmother, handsome prince, pretty princess, saviour and all, with a twisted little ending.
Rate : 3.5 stars~

We gonna shake it!
Filed Under dance, fun | 12 Comments
It’s a busy, busy week as I have to practice shaking my bum for belly dancing. The performance date is very near and we haven’t perfected every step! Thus we have to stay back after works and practice and practice and practice nearly everyday! I felt like a school kid practicing for school performance!
I reached home around 8 or 9 pm plus daily and shower and take crappy dinner (not much time for preparation and lazy to buy). Very tiring but quite nice and looking forward for the performace.
We have to arrange for the standing position (trust me, it isn’t easy to make 17 ppl happy and see who get to stand on stage, who stand off stage, who can dance better and the different of height and skirts and yes, 17 women!), make use of the small stage, come out with backup plan if it rains (it is open air) and coordinate our top, find unoccupied meeting room to practice, coordinate how to walk in and out of the stage, etc.
We finally got hold of the tailor made skirt yesterday which cost a bomb! Yeah, it is RM150 for a simple design (read : no design), just a piece of cloth that covers our hips to the ankle, rather long and I am afraid I might step on it and fall, on the stage! My company finally agreed to subsidize RM120 and we have to fork out RM30. But the skirt really doesn’t worth RM150. As it is quite transparent and have 2 high slits to the thigh, I cannot wear it for any occasion in the future! Quite wasted!
Anyway, wish me luck and gracefulness!

YRLM : Do you want to go for lunch today?
You : Yes, sure.
YRLM : I already tabau (bought) my lunch, so I am not going to lunch with you.
You : … <speechless> …
I decoded it as : Yadda yadda yadda.. I already have my lunch so I am not going to lunch with you although you want to lunch with me~ *rolled eyes*
And it happened so frequently that I am feeling a little disgusted..

Time for Full Body Check Up!
Filed Under me, life | 20 Comments
Full body check up! I’ve been procrastinating to do it for months! The last time I did it was somewhere in the end of 2005, which was 2 years ago! I believe I am not the only one guilty for delaying the body check up, right?! (How about the one reading this post right now?!) *grin*
I am really grateful that a health lab consultant was coming over to our office to do free urine test and blood pressure/heart rate test for us last Friday! My blood pressure was a little under the normal rate, 116 and normal was around 120. But my heart beat was faster than normal! 94 instead of normal 72-80! Hmm.. perhaps I was a little too excited for free tests?
Believe it or not, skinny-me cholesterol level is a little too high (though it could be because of good or bad cholesterol or maybe consumption of too much seafood and eggs!). My liver isn’t at too good condition as well (from the surface urine test) and it might be because of lack of sleep! Our liver rests between 11pm to 1am according to the consultant, which most of the time I was still awake (at least half of the time… i think our liver should sleep at 3-5am, so it would get proper rest, right??)!
Well, there isn’t always free lunch in the world or big frogs leaping around the street (direct translate from Cantonese proverb!). They were here to promote the body check up at their lab at Damansara Utama (Agih Labaratories) at a special price of RM197 for 75 types of test (normal price at RM350) and the price is applicable for 5 years and families.
I called up PathLab to compare their comprehensive test at RM260 for 45 tests but it seems that it doesn’t break down the urine test. Also there is deep tumour marker test and all the medical terms and many promotions which really confused me to get the best package at the lowest price!
At last, after much thoughts and consultations from various parties (read : friends and colleagues), I decided to sign up for it. If I don’t I might procrastinate my body check up further to I-don’t-know-when again.
Anyway, I just want to get it done as soon as possible and get over with it. The consultant was right to say that we duly send our cars for service every few months but we always fail to do the same for our body (body checkup) which is far more valuable than the car (and not to mention the very expensive ‘spare parts’)!

They came yesterday morning to take my blood (after 10 hours of fasting) and my blood was a bit too thick and whitish stuff inside! She said I am too stress..!!!
Result is out next 2 weeks.. *crossing fingers*

Free Manicure~
Filed Under me | 16 Comments
I got my very first manicure for FREE after splurging on some Estee Lauder cosmetic! It was certainly nice to be pampered with manicure!
There weren’t too many designs and colors to choose from and I finally settled for gold color (Christmas coming!) and a simple design. She buffed my nails, removed cuticles, soak into water before applying the base coat.
Somehow I felt that the temporary manicurist wasn’t really too professional as it wasn’t as nice as I expected (even for a first timer) as I could do a better job applying the base color. But she could draw much better than me!
When she was about to draw the design on my nails, my finger was shaking! She thought it was cute as I was getting nervous when she was the one who was drawing. Maybe it reminded me of drawing the design myself on my nails and my hand always trembled! So, I have to look away when she did the design!
Here goes!
I should have insisted for the purple one but she said it was drying up.. but my colleague did purple anyway and I think it looks much nicer than mine!

How Easy it is to Earn Woman’s Money~
Filed Under thing, happy, me, colleague | 16 Comments
My colleague and I were just in the mood of exploring cosmetic last week. Both of us hardly makeup to work or even to casual outing so we don’t have much ideas about makeup!
She wanted to find a nude color lipstick that makes her lip pale but it was tough to find one that really gave that natural nude shade after applying as her natural lip color was rather pinkish.
We headed off to Estee Lauder in Isetan during lunch time after a quick lunch at the food court. The promoter put on the lipstick for her with gloss and she even tried the black eye shadow for smoky eyes effect. Finally she chose a piece of nude lipstick and I was happy for her.
We thought that’s all she was getting and before we knew it, it was more than an hour after lunch time and we purchased more items that we were seeking for!
Both of us purchased the makeup set of “Good As Gold” that consists of a palette of eye shadows, lipstick, duo blusher, eyeliner, lipliner and a dinner bag (that worth RM460 but only at RM148 if we purchased above RM150, which of course we did!).
On top of that I also bought a Brush-on Illuminator that cost RM100, which suppose to cover my dark circles but somehow I felt that my Maybelline liquid foundation does a better job! >_<
Anyway, splurging really does make me happy, just at a higher cost. Though, I still think it is rather a worthy set and if the illuminator is really effective, then it should worth it as well.
And I have a long way to learn the art of makeup to make myself prettier~ ^.^

Litte Cute Door Gifts~
Filed Under life | 7 Comments
When CL attended his friend’s wedding in Singapore, he bought back cute little salt and pepper shakers that are made from clay in a shape of dogs! It was the type that I bought in Bangkok for my friend as souvenir! Some people are just so
His friend give them away as wedding favour, those little door gifts for the guests who came for the dinner. It was such a pretty little thing and different from those chocolates heart that I normally received at wedding dinner.
Cute, isn't it?!?

Dubai, the luxurious place!
When we went to team building middle of last month, I shared a hotel room with a colleague of mine. Due to the limited personal time given to us, we have to take time showering and get ready for the next activities. I was thankful for the Discovery Channel, Astro that I could watch on TV when my roomie hit the shower.
One of the very interesting documentaries was Dubai, one of the seven emirates of United Arab Emirates. It was about how they would run out of their valuable resources, Petroleum in the future, which is one of their biggest sources of revenue!!! Thus, the prince of Dubai was looking for ways to generate more income when they are running out of Petroleum, decided to make Dubai a luxury world class travel destination! They have beautiful sandy beaches and great summer all year long which attracted many visitors. However, the beaches land was not enough to support the number of visitors that they would like to have.
Thus, the prince has a vision to build a unique island in a shape of Palm Tree to have longer beaches to accommodate the number of travellers! They hired many famous constructor as well as architecture around the world to build the palm’s shape island. As the prince insisted that the island is made from natural resources, no metal and steel is allowed to be used. It has leads to many problems and in the documentary, I was impressed by how they overcome all the problems, even catering for major earthquakes!
Many Dubai hotels and shopping places would be build in the island to attracts visitors from around the world. They even have 7 stars hotel that is so luxury and high class! The Dubai apartments costs about USD300 per night! A 3 bedroom apartment cost about $399 or more than RM1K a day! It’s nothing that I can afford right now but I must say it is very luxury and stylish!

Do you like the LRT-train?
Filed Under train, me, life | 12 Comments
Last time, I wrote a post on why I hate to take the LRT train to work, 25 minutes a trip, 2 trips a day, 5 days a week! But it is more like love-hate feeling as sometimes I enjoyed taking the LRT train to work as well!
1. It is cheap, even though after the price increased to RM100 for a monthly pass now. I mean cheap compared to driving to work when you have to pay for petrol (that increased so fast and nonstop yearly!!!) and parking.
2. Save time! If I am to drive from PJ to KLCC daily, it would definitely take more than 25 minutes a trip!
3. No pressure/frustration from traffic jam on the road!
4. I can enjoy the nice view (especially if I stand by the window/door of the train). I love seeing house from top view, the nice gardens, swimming pool, view the traffic on the highway, people jogging on the park, people having football game on the field, pedestrian on the road, etc! Really enjoyable to watch!
5. LRT train is punctual! (unless when there is technical error which is really seasonal)
6. The train is frequent, around 3 minutes on peak time and less than 10 minutes on off peak time.
7. It starts from early morning to midnight!!!
8. The LRT train is always quite clean?!?
9. I am not a good driver?!?
10. …<cannot think of the 10th reason>…

Assignments!!!
Filed Under friend | 7 Comments
“So, when will you graduate from your Master course,” I asked my friend again.
“As soon as I finish my research paper,” he said promptly.
“What’s stopping you then?”, I asked again, curious this time as he has been delayed graduating from his Master course for over a year!
“Well, I am busy with work and I do not have much time to do it,” he moaned.
I remembered when I was in university; we would try to get help from the seniors. A housemate of mine had close friendship with the seniors and he would approach them for assistance in the coursework. Sometimes the seniors even passed down their assignments for us as reference! But gone are the days where I need to do assignments on last minute and till late midnight. Thank God!
I suppose more than one of my friends is in that situation, unable to finish up their master course as they are too busy to prepare for the final paper. It is quite a common scenario where graduates are not able to finish up their essay writing. Some opt for custom writing help by professionals where they are able to assist in writing quality custom term paper to speed up their graduation.
