I’m off to Hanoi, Vietnam today!!!

I remembered reading SlowCatchUpKuan’s entry about her trip to Hanoi; on how she miscalculated and got an early flight and have to wake up very, very early to catch the flight!

And well, though it is not my miscalculation (as I would have learnt from her lesson), I still have to wake up by 3.30 am as my flight is at 6am!!! No, I wasn’t the organiser and didn’t know till last minute. (=.=)”

Anyway, I am taking a tour 4D3N package trip at ridiculous price of RM1.5K, including flight, accommodation, tour and meals; but the good thing is I got 50% off~ And I sure hope it would worth my $$$. And hope no rain as the forecast shows 'Scattered Thunderstorm' for the 4 days! >_<

Will be visiting the beautiful Hanoi and some tourist place. Hope it nice and hope I can shop too. My only knowledge of Hanoi is what I read about from SlowCatchUpKuan’s blog as she wrote quite details and put many nice pictures~

So, here I go! Will be back by Saturday~!!! ;)

I am not really crazy about steamboat as since young, the steamboats I have are always full of balls. Yeah, like fish balls, prawn balls, fish cake and stuffs from the same family. I only like meat balls and ‘fu zhuk’ (don’t know what you call it in English).

Besides, how can steamboat beats satay celup from my hometown, right!?! :P

But…! There is a nice steamboat place (in fact many at the same areas) at Kepong Manjalara which is very famous for the steamboat! Even a non-fancy-steamboat would drool whenever I think of the spicy, delicious-tom-yam soup! Yum!

I just had it again last 2 weekend ago and it’s really good and not that pricey. Around RM15.xx per pax I reckon.

A full plates of food, with Yee Mee noodles and MeeHoon and eggs~

My New Goal!

I finally found the pedometer that I so wanted it for a week!!! ^.^

No, I didn’t get the Omron Pedometer that I so wanted coz I couldn’t find it anywhere. Not at Best Denki or Studio R in KLCC. Nobody seems to know about the existence of pedometer! *gasp*

I found it in Tesco, Puchong for RM11.90 which I gladly grabbed. It has the function to measures step, total distance, estimated calories burnt and time which was simply fabulous for me. :D

On the very next day, Sunday, I wore it 98% of the time to measure my step counts. And I amazed myself by hitting my target of 10 000 steps a day, path to fitness! Yay!!!

I’ve tested on it’s accuracy by counting manually about 800 steps for two times and compared with the pedometer counting. It is has slight variant of 10 steps, which mean it undercount by 10 steps or 99.98% accuracy!!! Woohooo!!!

On Monday, I hit over 10k steps count by 8pm only! ^.^
It is around 4km of total distance (if each stride I walk is 40 cm) and around burn 218.5kcal for walking.

Hope I can hit 10k everyday and I’ll just turn a deaf ear to those sceptics (bleah!!!) and focus on my goal! Yeah~

The 10K-A-Day Program, extracted from here.

This is a great and easy program to get you started on your lifetime walking habit. The 10K-A-DAY program is to walk 10,000 steps a day (which exceeds the Surgeon General physical fitness recommendations of 30 minutes of exercise one most days of the week). When you accomplish this, you will be burning more calories and you will be walking your way to a healthier life.

There is even a book about it :

REDUCE YOUR RISK of serious health problems, including heart disease, stroke, diabetes, high blood pressure, arthritis and osteoporosis

STRENGTHEN bones, joints, muscles and tendons, promoting long-term muscular and skeletal health and reducing the risk of injury as you age (stronger abs and back muscles will also reduce stubborn upper-body fat and backache pain)

DECREASE stress, anger, tension and fatigue~

This month, April, marks the 6th year I am joining the working world! Whoa! I started pretty early, around my early twenties. Yeah, so I am not that old, mind you. :P

Time really flies, I remembered when I was in my final year, I was really scared to venture into the working world as I told my roomie, Yun. I was very worried if I am able to cope with the job scope and perform well. I felt that I wasn’t prepared at all even though after studying for 4 years at uni.

But….so fast, it’s already 6 working years and I am in my 4th company! Another 28 years to retirement!!! Counting down.. aren’t you? :P

I’ve been to this new company for more than 3 months and well, hmm.. it’s another un-exciting job. Duh.. I have yet to start my ‘support’ role yet and really am looking forward it! Right now I am still doing QA which means plenty of testing.  (=.=)"

My new company office layout is quite ‘individual’ compared to my previous jobs. I guess I have pretty much privacy sitting in the individual cubicle as the pictures shown below.  Here are some of the pictures snapped in my cubicle during my b-o-r-i-n-g time. :P

Due to the boredom, I like to munch something or drink something after lunch or during personal-tea-time. One of my current favourites are rose tea, green tea and honey or combination of them!

So, how long have you been to the working world? Or are you reaching your final count down to retirement already?!

Much as I hate to eat oat, I forced myself to eat it at least once a week (sometimes I only eat once a month!). But when I was in US I ate 2-3 times a week with peach and strawberry, coz I did not to prepare it and it tasted so good! ^.^

Anyway, reason why I wanted to eat oat is to lower my stupid cholesterol level (which so shouldn't be high at my age and for my size! Darn!).

More reasons I should be eating more of the oats :

 ·     It contains insoluble fiber's cancer-fighting properties
 ·    Soluble fiber which may reduce bad cholesterol
 ·  Less likely to develop heart disease
 ·  Good source of many nutrients including vitamin E, zinc, selenium, copper, iron, manganese and magnesium and protein too!

Why do all the food that is so good for you taste oh-so-bad!

P/S : This post is just to remind myself to eat more OAT and the benefit of it~

I almost give up myself in the exercising-department.

I am just such a lazy-tut to do any form of exercise, apart from shopping and typing vigorously (with 90 words per minute :P)

At least I had yoga and belly dancing class in my previous company 4 months ago. But 4 months down the road I hardly do anything. Guilty. But ain't doing nothing about it. :P

Except to walk to the LRT station and to my office, which was about 12 minutes per trip. So if I walk to and fro, it would be like 24 minutes. If I buy some fruits during lunch time, I could add up another 10 minutes, 34 minutes! Not too bad, right? No?

Anyway, I think it's high time for me to get a pedometer; not too sure if I really want/need it or I want to buy something, again.

Pedometer is a step counter to help you count how many steps you have take. Not all are reliable, at least the Reader Digest article said so; don't settle for cheap one.

It added : Walk 100 steps and manually count them. The pedometer should record 85 to 105 steps. If not, try moving it to a different spot on your waist.

And yeah, so that what I'll be looking for next! A brand new pedometer! ^.^

Hope it can makes me walk more~

I am eyeing for Omron Pedometer HJ-112 which has fantastic review (selected for the most accurate pedometer in 2004) but it would cost me around USD12 (minimum I can find) + USD15 on shipping! Outrageous

Perhaps I did find a new love after all. Something that has been occupying my mind all the time; the first thing in the morning and the last thing before I go to bed. Even have nightmares coz thinking too much of it.

But it was a sweet one and makes me happy to be in control (or out of control sometimes).

Is this
love?

It all started when I realized that I have been missing it for 2 weeks!!! Man, how could it be! I never missed it in my entire life. It drained me and left me helpless.

Oh, what am I to do? Do I fret or do I cry?  Suddenly I realized that I gotta do something! I can't sit back and do nothing and feel
miserable. 2 weeks are enough!

And so, armed with some knowledge from a male friend, I decided to do it. Do something that I never want to do before. Do something illegal. Do something before it's too late!!! >_<

And so with that, on that very night, I setup UTorrent and download the Desperate Housewives Season 4!!!

I suppose the secondary Streamyx broadband line in my room (paid by the company) came just at the right time for me to start the 'downloading business', all night long~

Once I start, I cannot stop! I have been browsing the nets for other movies to download. Watching the download-kpbs increased makes my heart pumps faster, like watching the stock market goes up!

And on Sunday morning, I finally was able to sit back and devoured the missed-episodes of Desperate Housewives Season 4. ^.^

Oh
, sweet, juicy love~

Not abandoned. Will be right back. Soon, I hope! :p
