Merdeka!!!
Filed Under Malaysia | 7 Comments
I almost forgot it’s Merdeka day when we turned to Tesco yesterday night to do some groceries. And we were wondering why it was so jammed up around 10.30pm on Saturday night. Everyone started to do night grocery shopping?
Seeing some policemen diverting the traffic, only then it hit us! Merdeka celebration and countdown at The Curve! And thus we turned the car around and headed to the less sought after place instead, Kelana Jaya Giant hypermarket.
And aye, happy Merdeka to all!

The New Next Thing?
Filed Under thing | 12 Comments
Do you think our country is finally catching up in online shopping? I think it is! The craze is starting and spreading like wild fire!
Even with my narrow social connection, I already know 3 people personally, starting up online boutique whether to sell clothes or accessories! No kidding!
No doubt it is starting to grow like mushroom after the rain. I see more and more online boutiques around which makes me rather happy. But why?
Yes, I can browse the new clothes and fashion from the comfort of my home (avoiding the traffic and the stern look of the promoter suspecting that you'll never buy anything. And sometimes I just can't prove them wrong. =P)!
Recently, I saw another online boutique by IreneLim and the first thought that crosses my mind was, is she my childhood friend?!? But after checking out the About section, I banished all the doubt as my friend couldn't write in Chinese! Else, it would be 4 friends of mine engaging in the cyber sales~!
Anyway I really like the presentation of their clothing as it is easy to browse as well as their clean background. Nothing flashy and distracting. The clothes are rather fashionable and reasonable priced too.
I am eyeing for their cheap and cute Tee, especially the one with helicopter carrying an elephant! Super duper cute, isn't it?!
So, what do you think? Will online shopping be the next thing here?

So, what to eat lah?
Filed Under Malaysia, life | 14 Comments
Tell me, what should I visit and eat in Malacca? I am going there this weekend! My colleague exclaimed happily!
Oh gosh, it was one of the questions that I really dread! (=.=)"
Before I could open my mouth, another colleague of mine from Taiping saved me the agony and told her where she should visit and what to eat! Thank goodness!
I am THAT bad when it comes to places to visit and eating places in my hometown that is so famous for food! Yes, I know, the chicken rice ball, satay celup, wan tan mee, ikan bakar, nyonya food and cendol. (Salivating? Me too!
)
The thing is my father always bought them home for us (yeah lucky me) or we go to our regular places. And it doesn't help with me having no sense of direction at all. I literally know only 3 places in Malacca; my home, my school and the bus station!
Which is why I was so glad to get a copy of the precious book "50+1 Malaysia" by Quachee! (Ahem.. I know him personally, or at least I know his brother quite well!
) *show off*
The book is at a pocket size, perfect to be carried anywhere but be amazed by the comprehensive contents! I couldn't believe that it could includes so many topics; 7 topics with 51 things that you will not want to miss! (With pictures too!)
For a start, it covers the Malaysian culture which I can relate to almost every one of them and it is really amusing! Especially the "lah" which I asked my Indonesian friend and he said they don't use the "lah" like we do! So, it's really Malaysian lah~
Second topic will really make anyone goes really hungry as it is about food! The very night I read that topic, I have to ask my mum to buy some satay for dinner! No kidding~! =D
Next is about 51 places to visit in Malaysia, which is really interesting! I never know that there is so many places that I can visit locally without having to fly to another country.
Also not to be missed; how to travel around in this lovely country and how we celebrate the many festivals we have here. There are also interviews of the many famous people in Malaysia which made us proud.
Truly, I think I really learn much more about my country that before after reading this little booklet! Thanks Quachee. His love for his country has inspired him to come out with such a great book, that should be read by all Malaysians as well as a great guide to tourists to know Malaysia better!
Happy Merdeka to everyone and have a safe journey! =)

Grinding, clenching, gritting..
Filed Under me, life | 17 Comments
Your opening bite is still not good enough, my dentist would say it almost in my every visits.
What is opening bite? I asked him before.
From what I understood, it is the gap overlapping of your upper row of teeth to your lower row of teeth when you bite.
He couldn't fix it no matter how many methods he tried for months.
And now I started to realize why.
I am so used to clenching my teeth, hard. Very hard. All the time, day and night.
It might be due to the movement of my teeth when I put on braces which make me feel uncomfortable.
Or the stress.
Or a habit.
I am not sure of which.
And I found out that I am grinding my teeth as I sleep!
Bruxism, that's what they called for teeth grinding that could fracturing, loosening or even teeth loss.
And before any of that happens, I need to break this habit!
I have read that I need to relax my jaw muscles which mean positioning the tip of my tongue between the teeth every time I feel like clenching!
That means having my tongue between my teeth almost all day long as I realized that I have been subconsciously gritting my teeth all the time whether I am working, surfing, showering, walking, sleeping or doing nothing!
And after nearly a week now, I think I am getting a hang of it. Not to mentioned that I nearly chewed my tongue off! Kidding!
And I hope I can quit grinding my teeth when I am sleeping too.
Life’s too short to keep on grinding, right? :)

Goodbye, my friend..

Death has always been far away from me. The only deaths that I knew were of both my grandmothers when I was 12 and 15 and my uncle which I wasn’t closed to.
So death to me happens to old people who were either sick or aging.
Young people are not supposed to die. There are so many things they are going to do, like getting married, raising family, going places, excel in their career, travelling, living a life, getting old and so on.
Or so I thought. It has to be right? Life has to be fair and give everyone a chance to live.
But I was so wrong. Today I was really shocked and saddened by news of a classmate passing away in car accident.
She was so young, so pretty, so smart and so having a life. And yet, without any notice or preparation to her family and friends, she was taken from us. Just like that.
I haven’t been keeping in touch with her for a long time since after school. But I remember admiring her as she was such a nice friend and daughter.
I felt that life is so unfair and so unpredictable. How could you just terminate someone life just like that. What about her plan in life and so many things that is waiting for her in her life? And the worse thing was when I think about her parents, aching so much for them.
It just makes me so sad that life could be so out of our control. It slows me down and makes me feel vulnerable. Life can be so cruel. It is so upsetting to think about that.
Rest in peace, AL. You will always be fondly remembered and missed.

The Train Is A Stage~
Filed Under train, life | 13 Comments
Where do you meet girls?
A friend’s friend tries meeting girls in the club recently.
Though he asked, why didn’t the girls wanna come out the next day after I got their phone numbers? He moaned.
I wouldn’t be surprised, would you?
A new place to meet girls is in the train, no kidding!
There I was, squeezing into the LRT train after I missed the first one. I made my way to the safe zone, in front of the seats and stood there among some guys who stink a little. Duh.. (=.=)"
And there was this guy, very familiar, sitting right in front of me (I was standing). I avoided total eye contact as I believe he was the guy that strike conversation with me in the lift during my previous job.
Since the first encounter I have tried to avoid him with his over friendly manners which made me felt a tad uncomfortable for another round of conversation.
And there he was sitting between two ladies; one old lady trying to get a nap in the short journey and another pretty lady, occupied in her book.
I was trying hard to be filled with own thoughts but it seems to fail when I realised he was talking to the pretty lady next to him.
Yes, the LRT train is like a stage, with uninvited observant spectators like me; filling up the boring journey with some blogging ideas like these. Guilty, not.
And it crosses my mind that they knew each other, perhaps colleagues as they were talking about the train itself.
As I keenly decipher their conversation, I soon came to the conclusion that they were perfect strangers which were soon confirmed when they introduced each other by the name. Aha!
And the conversation went on for a moment before the girl went back to her book.
It was another silence when more people get off from at some train stations.
The guy started to fan himself with some papers and started another round of conversation; this time drawing a few more uninvited spectators like me!
Undoubtly, the train is a stage.
Remember to walk gracefully and remain your cool while you are at it. *wink* ;)

It’s so Small!
Filed Under thing, me, life | 32 Comments
I was just in frivolous mood when I was in Digital Mall at section 14, looking for the USB fan with my friends last Thurs.
Though the malls was closing down at 9pm I still insist of checking out those laptops with no intention whatsoever to get one as my dear Dell is barely 16 months~
And the first thing that caught my eyes was Acer Aspire One at 8.9 inches!
It is so cute!!! So small! It is so my size!!!

Oh my, I was totally in love with it, the white one of course. (I found out that it came in four colors in the website, I still like the white one; though I would consider pink too).
The price is very reasonable too, around RM1.6K plus for 120GB harddisk and 1GB RAM!!! Good price right?
And yes, it is sufficient for surfing net, checking email and blogging. The only setback is the screen is too small for watching movies.
But then again, weighting at around 1.2kg (with super cute little charger too), I wouldn't have worry about mobility! I could slip it easily into my handbag, no?
Well, I seldom am in love with gadget but, this is literally a real baby, isn't it?
Hmm.. is it too much to own two laptops at a time?!?

P/S : Reading the papers the next day, I am glad that he wasn’t thrash for his not securing a gold medal in the Olympic final badminton 2008. He has done a great job by obtaining a silver medal, achieving what we have not achieved before in history. You have done us proud, Lee Chong Wei!

Thai Specialty ~
Filed Under food | 29 Comments
For those who have been to Thailand, they know how tasty is this simple, exotic Thai food. But for those who have never been there or never tried it, they would look at it sceptically, what’s so special about it? It’s just mango and sticky rice.
Ahh.. my heart goes out for those who didn’t have a chance to try it yet!
Many of my friends who have been to Thai boasted to me how nice and tasty it was. But I missed it when I was in Bangkok last year!!! Actually I didn’t know it was their specialty and so I only went for green curry and Tomyum Kung.
And so when there is this Thai fair in KL Central, I was elated and wanna try them out. The small stall was operated by original Thais! So, it is fairly authentic!!!
It was a very crowded stall especially during lunch and dinner time with long queue. Well, it didn’t disappoint us! The Tomyam kung was very flavourful and hot and the papaya salad Som Tam was appetizing!
The mango and sticky rice is just.. perfect! Yum~!
