Have you heard of the latest news about (the first actor that I knew of his name when I was a kid) Andy Lau, getting married this coming April 2009? To his girlfriend of 24 years, Carol Zhu from Malaysia, the second runner-up in a beauty contest in 1985!

Oh my! Didn’t know the Hong Kong heartthrob is such a loyal guy! The big three days wedding will be held in Kuala Lumpur after Lau’s China concert tour on April 27.

How romantic, even though it is a wait of 24 years. At least he’s marrying her after the long wait, right? *grin*

Errmm.. anyone invited? :P

I have read or heard one too many good reviews of this movie and decided to give it a try. Perhaps it was of high expectation or maybe it was movie of the high school level, I didn’t find it as exhilarating as it should be.

What’s more it is about vampire, a pretty teenage girl falling in love with glistering (under the sun) good looking hunk vampire.

It was like.. hmm.. a classic love story? Boy meet girl; boy loves girl & girl loves boy? Oh my, not even any thrilling twist!!

Except that he is a vampire. A vegetarian one that’s it. :P

And high school! Boy, that was like so over my era now. No wonder I am not connecting. :P

The vampire thingy is so used to be my type, as I grew up reading the Christopher Pike’s The Last Vampire series. It was like my favourite novels back then, reading every single of them available in our old school library.

As of other western movie, they like to keep the ending open, you know, for a perhaps the sequel of the movie. However the movie isn’t slow which keeps me watching till the end (in 2 seating though due to lack of time rather than boredom).

Anyway, it still certainly better than the recently watched Beverly Hills Chihuahua (rated 1.5 stars) but not as good as the Sex And The City movie (3.5 stars), although I had rather high expectation towards this movie as well. Especially after I just finished watching the 6 episodes of this series, which was rather addictive and err.. sexual.

“And so the lion fell in love with the lamb”.

Rate : 3 stars

It is a weekend where I spent the whole day by myself at home on Saturday, which I rather enjoyed. =)

On Sunday, it was even better. Even though we were “flown aeroplane” by DT, we still had a great day. (
This post is dedicated to u, D.)
My friends of 16 years were there, LY , all the way from M’cca. And of course, Lina, the one with excellent sense of direction!

Anyway, as planned we had breakfast at Paramount before hitting the road to to Bukit Cahaya for a cycling session to start off the day. It was first for both of them and I met Ms Wong and the outing-gang there! What a nice coincidence~

There were running out of normal bikes and thus we took the bikes with baby seats, which is RM5 instead of normal RM3. Anyway, I got discount, free for the 2nd hour which is suppose to be RM1 (after asking for it when we returned! Sometimes all we need to do is ask, nicely.) =)

It was fun cycling around for 2 hours (10.30am - 12.30pm), seeing the animals, burning the calories when cycling uphill, enjoying the breeze down the slope, admiring the tulips in the freezing-spring-season in the 4-seasons house and taking pictures! (and them getting burnt from the sun while I was partially protected by cap and arm-clothes?)

After that we went back to my place for showers while they viewed some pics of Parames’ engagement, choose some dramas series and movies and burning some photos for Lina.

At 2.22pm, we went to view the condo which I know the way to go but not the way back! Oooppss.. But luck has it, or maybe it’s because of Lina, we managed to find a quick way to The Curve and avoid the bad jam!

Around 3.30pm or so we were in The Curve, starving! We randomly picked Lam Kwai Fong for lunch as Thai Express was ridiculously packed even at 4.30pm! Is it really that good? I only had once in Singapore and it was okay.

It was sort of confession and stories time where we updated each other about our lives, past and current. And even some juicy stories in the past! And of course the current age pressure, responsibilities as well as the future. And we talked about the things that we need and want. (She has no more need, that is why she is thinking of the things she wants!)

The things I like about old friends are you are able to pick up from wherever you left off. =)

Next we spent the next 3 hours or so hunting for a porcelain book for LY, GPS-understanding-session, shoes-hunting-and-acquiring (
2 pairs for me! *grin*), Daiso, beauty shops for nail polish, buying Mills & Boons boooks and ends the evening with delicious guilt-free, fat-free, cholesterol free (at least 99% of each of them) New Zealand Natural ice cream! Yum~

I was safely sent home by 8pm but poor LY had to drive all the way back to M'cca with her grandma and cousins.

It was certainly a happi day for us, except the tiring legs. =)

Since I started work, I haven’t been blog-hopping as much as I did last time. I’ve even almost stopped visiting my favourite blogs as I find that I have less time for my own. Where has all the time gone?

Being on my own for the whole day, something which I haven’t done for quite some time, I realised that it could be nice too. To do whatever I want to do and catch up with things that I should be doing.

Anyway I find this online quiz when visiting one of my favourite blogger. The quiz is Get To Know Yourself Better.

The result is quite accurate for some, but not all, especially the flirting part! :P

Your view on yourself:

You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:
You are not looking merely for a girl/boyfriend - you are looking for your life partner. Perhaps you should be more open-minded about who you spend time with. The person you are looking for might hide their charm under their exterior.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:
You prefer to get to know a person very well before deciding whether you will commit to the relationship.

The seriousness of your love:
You like to flirt and behave seductively. The opposite sex finds this very attractive, and that's why you'll always have admirers hanging off your arms. But how serious are you about choosing someone to be in a relationship with?

Your views on education
Education is very important in life. You want to study hard and learn as much as you can.

The right job for you:
You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life.

How do you view success:
Success in your career is not the most important thing in life. You are content with what you have and think that being with someone you love is more than spending all of your precious time just working.

What are you most afraid of:
You are afraid of having no one to rely on in times of trouble. You don't ever want to be unable to take care of yourself. Independence is important to you.
Who is your true self:
You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve.

Today I discovered a great tip for storing potatoes.

Usually, the potatoes wouldn’t last for a couple of week before there started sprouting.

Early of last month, to be exact, 7th Feb 2009, I bought 4 pieces of small potatoes for peanuts… err I mean at only 39 cents!

I meant to do mash potatoes with them since I learnt that during my plenty of free time in Dec & Jan; which kept me full when I was lazy to pack lunch or dinner.

But since I started working, I felt lazy to do it and gradually pretending to forget about the potatoes, laying at the corner of my shelves.

And so today, I decided that they should have turned bad enough and I could throw them away without guilt. After all, it has been like, 38 days and it never lasted so long!

Somehow, amazingly, they look pretty fresh to me! Only a little sprouting and good to eat! And I realised that I have kept them in the plastic bag that I weighted when I bought them, which was almost tightly sealed.

In other words, although it wasn’t really airtight but it was practically not much air inside the plastic. So, if you want to keep your potatoes longer and fresher, do keep them in airtight container (or plastic bags). It works very well with broccoli too (and I suppose other vegetables as well).

And my mash potatoes? Of course it’s yummy! Ahheemm.. my standard..  :P

Sunday morning – sorting out all the thousands of photos taken for the past several months, editing and deleting the duplicate, blurred or redundant pictures.

Much as I like to snap picture, I hate to categorise them.

And owing Parames her engagement photos that I promised to burn to CD and post to her, I finally burnt it. And I was thinking to burn a copy to all the others too but I would have to burn another 4 copies. Too lazy for that. :P

So, guys, if possible, do bring me your thumbdrive or external harddisk if we do meet next week.

Here are a couple of my favourite pictures during the engagement.

Colourful and pretty~

In the room, waiting for the ceremony..

The picture is blurred coz we took our mirrored. No one else to take for us in the waiting room.

We chatted & laughed.. I love this pic of LY, doesn't she looks so sweet!

Ah, the groom and of course the guys came too. =)

My favourite fair is coming again this weekend. It is none other than the Matta Travel Fair, one of the largest tour fair in town. As usual, it is held in PWTC from 13th March to 15th March 2009.

I got such good bargain packages from the last Matta fair, to some local and oversea tour packages that were so irresistible! Though I have to let go one of them. T.T

However, this year I am gonna pass this time round as my holidays are planned for the year. And some cheap, affordable local trips as well.

Well, the economy is bad and the worse is yet to be over. And as my new friend AV mentioned, this year 2009 I’ll have more responsible. So yeah..

Happy Pushing, Hunting & Travelling! =)

It’s almost a month since I joined my new company. Although the working day is less than that due to the many public holiday as well as annual holiday and MC that I took.

I am still in the training mode, which was also known as the honeymoon that some of them labelled. A lonely honeymoon as I was on it, alone. Until this new guy that joined in a couple days ago, that’s it. But then again, we were in different phases of honeymoon.

Starting to warm up with some of the colleagues and the environment was rather nice, if you compared to my previous company. Not that it wasn’t good but just totally different. In term of culture as well. At least experience the difference makes me realised what I really want and more comfortable in.

And I like the lunches as there are many places where we can go to lunch. Variety, I like. But the biggest con which I am slowly adapting to is to change trains to work. It is rather time consuming and hassle, of course more costly too!

What’s more, yesterday the Putra LRT suddenly declared ‘major technical problem’. They closed half of the entrance and stop the escalator and switch off the light at the entrance; which literally shouts, do not come in!

After battling with my choices for about 15 minutes, I decided to try taking the train but finally gave up after waiting for more than 30 minutes without any train in sight. It was horrible, and to think that I have so many reasons in why taking the train is a good way to go to work.

Anyway, at lunch today with an ex-colleague, I suddenly found out that he had recently bought a car and works nearby me. He also stays in the same housing area and so yeah, I know who to look for when I am working as late as he is. =D
