Cheesy crab at Cheras!
Filed Under photo, colleague, food | 18 Comments
The crab dinner brought us all back again, I mean the 2 ex-colleagues that have left for other companies. Six of us arranged our 2nd crab dinner at Hau Kee, near to Tmn Yulex, Cheras. The first crab dinner we had was in Seremban, which we went right after work!
Though they said otherwise, I felt that the crab was much better and tastier than the first trip. Perhaps we ordered different type of crabs, which was the cheesy and salted egg crabs! Perfectly deliciously! It is around RM45 to RM50 a kg for those crab.
The yummy salted egg crab!
Oh so yummy salted egg crab!
The even yummier cheesy crab!

The side orders were very tasty too. There were pork ribs, delicious signature tofu and vegetables (forgot to take de pictures before we ate, so this was what left when pictures were taken! Not very pretty but taste pretty good!)
The extremely expensive ‘herbal-wine-prawns’ at RM100 per kg and we ordered 6. So each of us get one but they charged us RM90!!! After we made much noises they found out that it was wrongly calculated, as it was only RM45! We felt that they were trying to ‘cheat’ us. Luckily we asked for break down of the food prices and enquired about it! The thing was the prawn not even nice! >_<
The steamed man-tau, very good to go with the cheesy sauce!!! *drooling*
As a compensation of their mistake, they gave us some fruits, covered with ice! The total receipt came about slightly over RM200, quite okay la. Everything was great except for the prawn!

Team Building Day 2~
Filed Under fun, colleague, weekend | 13 Comments
On second day, my roommate and I woke up at around 6.45am and showered! After a nice breakfast, we started to head to the field around 8.15am for another day full of activities!
On the very first day, each of us was given a balloon with water and we have to bring it everywhere we go and must take care of it. If we lost it, marks would be deducted from our team.
The first game was Flying Fox which required us to climb up this vertical stairs for 4 storeys! It was very tiring for some. For me it was rather okay, perhaps my body is light. Of course they have a safety rope as to ensure your safety (just in case you are too tired and let go of your grip!)
After that you have to sit on the edge with the safety rope tight safely. After you are ready, with full courage, you need to push yourself to slide down the rope. It takes a lot of courage to do that. I asked the instructor to push me but he refused! So I pushed myself down which was really terrifying!!! I wanted to scream but my voice stuck in my throat.. It was really the most terrifying activity for me though I thought I could do it well. >_<
To some, it is even worse! Take this colleague of mine for example. He was sitting there at the edge for a long time as he didnt dare to push himself down! We kept encouraged him from the fields but he just wouldn't come down. A teammate went up and tried to talk to him, even ungripping his fingers from the sidebar but to no avail. Finally after what seems like forever, he finally climbed and hanged himself as in the picture and slowly let himself down.
In every game, we have a buddy to help, guide and encourage us through the activities. This was my buddy and me, running back after she finished her flying fox!
The second game of the day was High Ropes, the most challenging game of all! You have to walk through the ropes, high above the ground in 5 stages. Man, it really takes a lot of courage to do this! To make things worst, it started to rain when I was halfway through the game, when I was stucked high above the ground!
This needs a lot of effort, especially if you are not that tall..
The second stage of the high ropes, walking on a rope and holding on another horizontal rope above you. This was rather okay compare to the next one!!!
This is the toughest stage of all, walking through the rope, holding vertical ropes (with a tyre tied down at the bottom)! You have to hold the top part of the rope with your right hand and bottom part of the rope with left hand (which you will definitely forgot when you are up there. So, that is why your buddy needs to guide and help you from the ground)!
You have to move from one end to another end by holding to the vertical rope tied to a tyre. When it was my turn, it started to rain!!! I nearly felt down when I was grabbing for the third rope which was a little far! But I hanged on tightly to the second vertical rope, closing my eyes and stood firmly on the rope. They shouted for me to calm down and be stable before I moved on. I tried to do just that and then I realised that both my legs are shaking!!! Arrghh.. I learnt that it was best to make small movement as you walk so that it would be more stable!
But hey, I made it after that and instantly felt so happy!!!
But the very same colleague who were dramatic at the Flying Fox got some attention from all of us again. He refused to hold on to the vertical rope and insisted of grabbing the horizontal rope above instead. After much encouragements and promises to him, he still refused to do it properly. The instructor gave up and asked him to hold it as he wished! (as in the picture)
This was the last stage of the high ropes! Yeay!!! I did it!!! So happy

The top pictures were my breakfast, with coffee too. The rest are our delicious Dim Sum lunch, halal food though. I love the baby octopus, scallops and the shark fin soup.

My favourite Chee Cheung Fan (made of rice noodles with prawn n bbq chicken inside), prawns, fish balls and fish balls with tofu.

Fu zhuk with filling, small pau, siew mai and very nice Gui Ling Gou (herbal jelly)~
My buddy, team leader, team mates and I after the lunch~
After lunch, each team had to draw a game that we played and the 10 values that we learnt from it. Here was ours!
After that all of us need to present it. We have other indoor activities too before we have tea break and leave for home! It was a good team building after all.
A very good experience.

Good bye, Allson Klana Resort!!!

1st day of Team Building~
Filed Under fun, colleague, weekend | 11 Comments
The team building is held at Allson Klana Resort of Seremban, which I think was a great place (not that I have any team building experience for comparison)! We reached there around 10.30am by a bus and a van, roughly around 50 people. The instructors started with some fun games to make us in the mood for activities and divided us into group of four. I was in the Green team with 12 members and the team name : Heroes!
This is our flag which we designed together but I drew and wrote on the cloth~
The 'Heroes' doing the war cry~
After all the initial activities, we checked in to our room, twin sharing. The room was rather nice~
Lunch time!!! It was buffet style, and I was tempted to eat a lot but then we have outdoor activities later! :S
My first plate, rather yummy~
Second helping, with the yummy fried chicken and saucy fish~
The dessert, a scoop of strawberry ice cream with some cocktails~ Yummy~
Our first outdoor game : Repelling! This was the game I was scared of the most when I saw the pictures showed by my colleagues who have been to the team building! Going down the wall from 5 storeys using a single rope!
But hey, no fear, it was controlled by 2 safety officer that we picked from our team members. They could control the speed of the rope. The instructor at the top would also control another rope. So, rather safe. UNLESS you bang yourself against the wall, if you kick with one leg instead of two legs!
That's me! It wasn't as difficult as I thought and I didn't look down when I climbed over the window, as advised by my colleague. It was rather smooth!
Gee! I have made it! My first small little victory of overcoming my fear~ It felt great!!!
The next game was the Spider Web. There were more than 20 holes and we have to go through the holes without touching the rope. Each hole can only be used once and it would be sealed if we accidentally touch it or after using it! We have 21 people and 24 holes! Ahh.. only 3 holes for mistake!
The holes were of different sizes, so the small people (ahem, like me) have to go through the small hole and big fella going through big holes. It needs a lot of planning as we have to move from one side to another, so if we are to carry people, we have to make sure some people from the other side is going to support them. And some holes for the last ones to go over!
And so the carrying begin! Two large fellas went through the big holes and we started to transfer people over.
Find the right hole for each one, within 45 minutes!
Keep your butt down! Some have to crawl over the hole which was too low!
How about me? The last big fella who was still on the other side! But fear not, we have reserved a hole for him!
We broke the record of the last few months as we could transferred all within the period time given & 8 minutes to spare!!!
But the other teams were not as lucky! They were punished as all the holes were used but they still have people that wasn't transferred to the other side. Yeah, got to do Commando Crawl.. Yikes.. dirty…!
Next was the game that I dislike most : Treasure Hunt. I hate searching for a small clue and we have to run around after the 2 activities for an hour, with a lot of mosquitoes around! Yikes..!
My teammates and I~
After that 3 outdoor activities, we were given time to shower and take dinner. I forgot to take the pictures of my main course, coz too hungry! The first picture was my 2nd helping of dinner, with delicious SzeChuan soup, some fruits and desserts. The ham and cheese sandwich were for tea time.
After that we have the game of guessing the movie title! It was funny and fun!
Next we have the dancing game where we would dance when the music was playing. Once the music stopped, you have to stop! Phew.. it lasted till 11pm!
Off to sleep after that..

Office napping..
Filed Under office, colleague | Leave a Comment
I am at office at 7.49pm today, second time of the week, after nearly a year I didn’t work till 8pm. But as it is requested by my management, what the heck, here I am~
Two of my teammates and I went to buy dinner and eat in the office just now. I bought for another colleague that sat in front of me. He requested for extra rice and so I bought extra big fried rice with fried chicken for him. It was such a huge portion that the rice box was unable to be closed properly. But surprisingly he managed to finish it!
One hour after dinner, I was still doing my work. Then I glanced at that colleague of mine. Gosh, he was sleeping while facing the monitor! I saw his head nodding off (we called it fishing) many times. =O
Man, let this guy go home and sleep..
But it wasn’t the first time I saw him sleeping. He was asleep while I gave live demo presentation on my project the other day too! I wish I could fall asleep as easily as him at night. Last Friday, I nearly dozed off for at least 3 times in the meeting! Luckily no one caught me, at least I think nobody did coz nobody was looking at me when I opened my eyes.. =D

Another one leaving..
Filed Under friend, farewell, colleague | Leave a Comment
I remembered coming for work on Sat when I started working in this company and the stranger WM smiled at me. At that moment I begin to like her as she’s so friendly. But we hardly chat until lately, when the big company restructuring in end of Feb this year.
Being transferred out of our team, we understood how each other felt and stick together. That’s how our friendship started to grow closer. For the last couple of months, realizing that she’s leaving soon, we started to hang out together at work and after work very oftenly. It was really fun and spice up my life in the office..
I like her for her friendliness, always ready to help other and she’s a very considerate person..
But yesterday was her last day here. She’s pursuing her childhood dream to migrate to another country.. boy, I am going to miss her so much.
Now, left the five of us, but two are leaving in July too.. I am so dreading for August to come..

The little black and white piggies that we bought for her as a gift as she loves them so much :

All the best WM..

Un-Peaceful Workplace..
Filed Under politic, colleague | Leave a Comment
It is very difficult to know one’s personality if we do not liaise with them long enough. There is a lot of politic going in a particular department in my office. I always thought some of the colleagues that I often saw at the corridor washroom are nice, as we smiled politely to each other. But our path didn’t go beyond than that and I never deal with them at work level.
But obviously, people are not simple. I heard many complaints from different parties regarding each other. It makes me wonder who is right and who is wrong. But it is very hard to determine without hearing the whole stories from both parties. It could be because of communication breakdown instead. People are pointing fingers, backstabbing and putting all the blame to someone else. Some people are hurt in the process and some think they’re always right. A rather depressing situation to work in. /_\
I am just glad I am in a peaceful department. At least most of them are helpful here and I have not really heard of any ill remark of each other. Or perhaps my antenna is too short to receive them. Whatever it is, team work is really important. We do not have to love each other at work, but it would be good enough if we could work professionally as a team..

The Crab!!!
Filed Under colleague, food | 2 Comments
We finally did it yesterday night!!! Yeah, well, my colleagues and I had been planning to go to Seremban for its famous crab for nearly a couple of months, but keep postponing as someone always couldn’t make it on a chosen date! And we ditched the guy who kept laughing at our planning and make us pissed off when he belittled us. Serves him right for looking down on 6 girls who can definitely go & have massive fun without him! =P

So 6 of us, all girls, packed in a Hyundai car, leave right after work and the drizzling didn’t stop us. Thanks for the new Smart Tunnel, we managed to reach Seremban after an hour, without getting lost of course! We talked, gossiped, laughed all the way there and the crabs were quite good (for my standard) but some said it could be better.

Most importantly we had a really good time and managed to be home by 11pm, surprisingly early. And now let’s see the guy colleague reaction after he sees the photos we took yesterday! And let him realize who has the last laugh.. Muahahahahaaa~ =D

More pictures can be found here~

P/S : Oh my, I could do with a little extra sleep to ease my increasingly-dark-eye-circles!

Farewell Lunchie~
Filed Under farewell, colleague | Leave a Comment
Had another farewell lunch for a colleague today. For the last couple of months, almost every week, some people would leave (just the matter of who are the stars of the week!) We went to the Pizza Hut at KLCC. The food at this outlet is more expensive than other Pizza Hut outlet! For example, at other outlets you can get RM7.90 express lunch set but here, the price for a lunch set starts from RM12.90 and above, which is 63% more expensive! *duh*
Since I had delicious Marco pizza (which is quite yummy) last Saturday at Kelana Jaya, I decided to order cheese baked meat balls (chicken) with Masala sauce today. It was a little sour, a little spicy and really quite yummy~ Try it out if you are tired of pizza or pasta.
Well, there was six of us, but I couldn’t quite really join (or enjoy) their conversation as the main topic was the issue with the buildings at Putrajaya, the price of houses at various locations, the smart tunnels and metal price going up! Man, maybe I should read more newspaper to widen my current issue knowledge or maybe buy a house, so that I’ll be more interested in it which-house-at-what-location-is-worth-buying-now-topic?

Unique Date ahead!
Filed Under colleague | Leave a Comment
For those who are planning to get married or register, a unique nice date is coming soon! Yeah it is the 07-07-2007! I think the date is very unique and special and hard to come by, right?
A friend of mine was hinted by his girlfriend to register on that day. Poor guy, he still ain’t sure if he wants to marry her at the first place; as they have been dating for less than a year only! =D
My colleague also plans to register on that unique day, which happens to be her birthday as well and she’ll turn 27 too! What a coincidence, all the combination of 2 and 7. I hope she’ll able to register on that date as I suppose many people will be doing the same on that day. =)
