Thanks to Mr.1K that offered to bring us round Muar on the way to Yun’s wedding at Batu Pahat. I thought I have been to Muar before as the town looks familiar, at least I remember the bridge but I just couldn’t recall when and why I was there! Ahh.. my memory going down the drain!

Mr.1K brought us to taste the scrumptious food rojak and the cooling desserts that was so appetizing after a long 2 hour ride from KL! Yum yum.. =)

The place is at Jeti Tanjung Muar Emas by the Muar river (I believe) and it was quite a big park with many local visitors!

We strolled along the river, took some pictures and analysing the pretty strangers that hold hand, trying to sort out the relationship of 2 girls and a guy. Yeah, it’s pretty complex when 3 of them were holding hand together!

After that, Mr.1K bought us some famous superlicious otak-otak, prawn and fish flavours! Due to our greediness, I forgot to take pics of it! But it was really yummy!

After that, we continued the journey to Batu Pahat and I have to put on my make up in the bumpy ride car. =)

Finally, someone I am very close to was getting married! Or should I said, married! Yeah, it was my best friend’s wedding at Batu Pahat yesterday!

And thus some of my friends and I travelled south (a day trip) to celebrate with her.

It was a joyous occasion especially after the dinner which another good pal of mine and the bride got to catch up at the bride's house (while the guys sit back and listen or watch TV)! :D

And after that, just right before midnight, my friends and I travelled back to KL and I had to keep the driver entertained so he would be alert for the whole journey.

Reached KL nearly around 2.45am and accidentally washed my hair and I had to dry it before I slept. Finally crept to the bed around 3.30am. And I have to work today. (=.=)”

But I am working from home today, thank God. =)

Still, there’s plenty of work to be done today and a virtual-meeting to attend. (=.=)”

Photos will be up as soon as I finish my work, unpack my bags, do the laundry, clean my room and catching up with my much-needed-rest.

Meanwhile, let me crept back to work!   =(

Happy Crappy/Blue/I-Doubt-It’s-Exciting Monday everyone!

A Hapi Day~

Weee~ Today there are many things to be happy about. :)

Firstly I saw an ex-colleague in the LRT train today. Well I have seen him a couple of times in the train before but we were never close although were in the same department. Somehow, after I know that my leave application has been approved for tomorrow I felt rather jolly and thus I put more effort in talking to him!

And talking to him made me happy too as I thought to myself, hey, I am not that antisocial that I thought I was. I can talk to people if I want to and put little effort. It is even enjoyable catching up with him and wishing him a nice day before I got down the train. =)

Next I went to buy The Star paper after I saw that there were many ads on travel deals for Matta Fair in the paper that he was holding. Then I got myself a slice of papaya for tea time (coz I have my usual wholemeal breads for breakfast).

Next, my best pal and I excitedly discussed about the masques and ampoules that we wanted to buy online after we saw Baby Fiona using them. It sounded so convincing that we decided to try them out as it was rather cheap too. Yay! Got some people willing to share the excitement & experience with me~

At about noon time, I received a parcel that I have been waiting for. Isn't it exciting to receive and open a parcel whatever it is? It is an USB Flower Fan! Happy, happy, thanks to IL!
 (^.^)

And I managed to get more work done than I have predicted! About 40% than I wished for~ *happy*

On the way home, I stopped by at Amcorp Mall to pick up a new book to rent and the title is “Skinny Bitching” which about a thirty something woman mouths off about age angst, pregnancy pressure and the dieting battles; which suppose to be hilarious and it is after a sneak preview. =D

And yeah, I also got the Black Charcoal masque which was the first thing I bought online! Yay!

Not to forget on the way home, I saw my housemate and she gave me a lift home on her bike~ Thanks!

It is a good day, isn’t it?
 *skipping  & grinning*

And yes, tomorrow I'm on leave so that I’ll be going to see my beloved dentist and head to Matta Fair after that. Pray that the crowd isn’t too huge! =)

P/S : And not to forget the juicy detail that I saw yesterday midnight when I was having another bout of insomnia. And he doesn’t know I know. But I do know. Muahhahahaaahahhaa..  :D

It’s funny how seldom I go for trip with my bunch of besties, although we know each other practically our whole lives; some since we were like 6! Apart from the school trips, so far I only went to Genting and Tioman with them. Tioman was like 5 years back! (=.=)”

And after persistent D trying to organise this one day trip (it is tough to get all of us together for the whole day as some has family and work commitment), we finally made it to Cape Rochado (or the less glamour name of Tanjung Tuan), a secluded area which is 10km from Port Dickson.

It was a chatty trip, with everyone updating each other and also discussed about the politic! Man, are we getting older or what? I don’t remember politic being one of our major topics when we got together. Anyway, being the one that couldn’t care less about the politic, I did learn a lot of info from them. Like the son in law of … well, I am sure you know.. :P

The hiking was a rather short one as I think we could have completed the one way journey to the light house and down to the quiet, private beach within half an hour. But we took our sweet time and thus took nearly an hour.

And I involuntarily offered my both bare arms as buffet for the millions of mosquitoes that were in the jungle. It doesn’t matter that I already spread both of my arms with layers of axe oil, they just kept coming back and suck blood out of me merciless! Damn!

We found the spot of quiet beach which was clean, beautiful and peaceful! Nobody was there except for us, which reminded me of Tioman Island where there wasn’t other visitors except for us! Which naturally means we could make as much noise as we want, chat and do stupid pose on the camera without having anyone eyeing on us.

I just felt relaxed and happy and contented and wondered why we didn’t do this more often. It was a simple trip but it not the destination that counts, it is the participants that make you feel different and happy. (^.^)

And after about 2 hours, we walked to the main beach which have many people; picnic-ing, swimming, banana-boating, jet-skiing, building sand castle and canoeing!

Again, on D persistent, I finally tried the canoe for the first time in my life! RM15 per canoe for an hour and I succeeded fighting for Pmes as my partner from Ren. The stupid sun that has been hiding for the whole journey decided to came out when we stepped into the water at around 5.15pm! Man, I felt that I was baked, without any sun block protection at all! (=.=)”

Pmes has experienced in canoeing which makes me quite relax, forgetting my mother advice of not going into water. It was fun, relaxing and also tiring when you paddle too much. But it was a private time where I get to chat with her, which was nice.

And yes, for the record, we lost to Ren and D when trying to get to the other end (smirk all you want) and we our canoe got stuck at the shallow part of the water. We have to get down and push our canoe to the water again and went to another way to reach the beach. Home by 10pm. Totally exhausted but it was fun. It was good. =)

I have bitten by the virus of I-m-so-lazy-to-update-my-blog. And I must admit the virus attack has getting more serious by the rate I am blogging; from every single day to twice a week and I fear the rate going to drop even further and I am forced to close down the blog. /_\

There are things I can write about which is the Sungai Lembing trip which I bet everyone else would have already written about it. I am 9 days late..

It was a trip of 12 people, not everyone know everyone else but at least each know at least other 3 and at least one person knows everyone, yeah being the co-organizers.

It is a place known for the famous rainbow waterfall and probably nothing else as it is a super-hot small little town which is almost dead. The small town is so peaceful that the villager could just leave their keys on the motorbike! And during the afternoon it is hard to find a place for lunch as most of the shops are not opened, not that there are many to begin with.

We left KL around 9pm after work and reached there after midnight and ‘checked-in’ to a hostel; exceptionally clean wooden house with 4 rooms and mattress that you can choose from.

On Saturday morning, hardly having a wink of sleep, we have to wake up at 4.15am to climb the small hill to watch sunrise! With almost empty stomach, unless you are willing to eat junk food in the morning; which all that we have.

It was a 45 minutes climb which isn’t too difficult if you have some stamina. It was a starry night and the weather was cooling and very fresh! But we reached the peak quite early, around 5am-ish and the sun didn’t rise till around 7am!    Plenty of time for those professional photographer to set up their SLR on tripod and the rest chatted and complaining how hungry are we. It was quite a pretty view when the sun finally rose!

After that, we hiked down, had delicious breakfast, and roamed about the small town on foot (which took less than an hour) and back to nap.

Lunch at Kuantan since we couldn’t find a shop that opened for meal! Actually we were glad to escape Sg Lembing as it was unbelievable hot, hot, hot weather!

At night, we had BBQ dinner which we bbq on our own. It was rather fun although a lot of food was wasted. And my insomnia seemed to perish with the lack of sleep the day before. The next morning we have to get up at 5am! Hey, I thought it was a holiday?

<to be cont..>

The health consultant pleaded me to lead a healthier lifestyle; more fruits and vege, include oats in my daily food intake and exercise regularly about 3 times a week. And I vowed to do all that but it just never happened, especially the oat and exercising. :P

And so, feeling guilty, I joined some friends who were on the expedition to climb Mount Kinabalu weekly training! Nah, I am NOT to climb it! :P But since they have ‘training’ to build their stamina weekly, I try to join it as a form of exercising for me.

Last Sunday, we went to Batu Caves early morning by 8am, to climb 272 steps. I only managed to do it 1 round. Reason? Nah, I am NOT tired!!! I just felt a little scared climbing the narrow steps, and I never have phobia in height! The thought of tumbling over the steps and break some bones, keep hovering in my head and I couldn’t make myself to climb for the second round! >_<

This weekend, on the Saturday, we went to Bukit Gasing hiking at 7.30am! I woke up even earlier than my normal working day which was so rare! Anyway, it was my first time to Bukit Gasing and I quite like the area!  Peaceful little jungle hiking place which was quite steep at some places and you have to be careful with your steps. But I saw many old people climbing it, so it shouldn’t be a problem for all.

It was all
greenery and I simply love it! But the thing was I spent too much time watching my steps than to enjoying the lush surrounding. It took us exactly 90 minutes for the whole hiking trip with a little rest in between. I would definitely go there again!

And yeah, I felt good after that, no muscle pain whatsoever and I could keep up which the other which proves that my stamina is still good although I don’t exercise regularly. :P

Maybe regular shopping and walking to LRT station daily is good enough as an exercise to me? :P

There is a Suspension Bridge (Jambatan Gantung) there too~

Find a lot of plants and supposingly-animals as well at that little jungle!

Friendship is like wine, the older the better.

How true is the proverb! I met up with my "old" friends last weekend, some which I've known for.. oh-my-God, 22 years which was 80% of my lifetime! All of them are there and it has been a long time since we gathered all together! Finally all are back and around. :)

Of course, being in Malacca, we must go for the famous satay celup for the gathering! Yummy yum!

How we chatted and chatted, from the recent elections to the politician, to our lives, what laptop to buy and where to travel, to our paper-stealing-cases-in-school and everything things that crossed our mind! It was fun and I just felt comfortable and contented being with them. :)

We managed to 'kidnap' Renu from her-earlier-than-Cinderella-curfew and went to the most-happening-place-in-town-Jonker-Walk, a sort of night flea market that sells everything on weekend and always full of desperate-Malaccan (like us) that has no place else to hang out.

As we were jostling in the crowds to find a cafe, Pam grabbed my hand and asked if I saw Faizlin, our long-lost-friend from primary school. "No," I said, barely remembering her face but I remembered her name. She said she just saw her, passing us by.

We quickly turned around and run after the Malay girl with tudung and I called out her name and she turned!!! Oohhh. It was really her, our head-of-the-class during Standard 5 and we haven't been meeting her for 15 years!!!

It was amazing that she still could remember me by my full name and I was really excited that someone remembers me! I sat next to her in Standard 5 and back then, she asked me to blow my nose when I was having running nose. :D She said Pam look the same but I look different!

I amazed myself when I remembered her last name too, when I was entering her phone number into my mobile! I don't have Alzheimer after all!!! :D

Hope to see her again and keep in touch. :)

Ended up in Harper's for a yum-cha (tea) session and LY managed to join us after she finished her meeting/talk at 10pm! We continued our chatty session and catching up and also planning to have a "real-trip" together, before any of us are tied to the happily-ever-after-lives, which I predict very soon!

We finally left Harper's after midnight and talked to loud and laughed too much on the way to the cars, not wanting to say goodbye! Well, hope our trip will be realized! :)

Our Genting Highland 1 day trip plan went down to drain when it rained over the weekend as in predicted in the weather forecast. So, we went to Bukit Cahaya or also known as Taman Pertanian at Shah Alam for cycling session instead.

It turned out to be rather fun and enjoyable outdoor activities. Even Yit who doesn't know how to cycle could do it once she got onto the bike. Check out some of the pics that we took!

Ready to start cycling!

Taking the pictures of pretty but arrogant peacock, who immediately opened up his beautiful feathers/tail upon seeing us!!!

Some animals at the Taman Haiwan~

And horses too! But they aren't as friendly as we thought!

Foursome~!

The scenery was nice too, greenish and peaceful!

The 4-Season-House was closed for renovation but we could take a peek there. RM3 for entrance but it was free during renovation~

Some pictures before we left!

It's nice to have some sort of outdoor activities sometimes instead of shopping and watching movies like we always do~  :)

On my second Saturday weekend, I went to San Francisco again, for the third time. Yeah, my life here is all about San Francisco although I really want to go to other places like the Muir Wood, Napa Valley (the winery), Monterey for the nice beach view and other places.

But heck, I am not going to complain. The last time the two of them complaining about each other, they ain't talking to each other till now! I am officially the middle-man now.. >_<

Anyway, back to the San Francisco, which was freezingly cold in the morning and night and stupid me decided not to bring the scarf and hat when I need it most. This time I went to an island which prison that kept the most notorious criminal in US! It is Alcatraz Island which is around 15 minutes of ferry ride from Pier 33 and the trip cost USD24.50! The most expensive visit so far and it is a building of prisons and all the small cells and stuffs. Pretty neat but too expensive!

The small horrifying cells..

Cells at Alcatraz Island..Rows of loneliness that could haunt you days & nights..

There are few rows, 3 floors, dark, small & scary.. I can't imagine staying here for years! Or lifetime! Some tried escaped but..

The inmates/criminals..

Next we went to the see the Arrival of Sea Lions events at Pier 39 but all the sea lions just lazing around under the sun and did nothing much! Watched for like 15 minutes and quite disappointed as I thought I could view from near and they'll do something except for napping! The fat, lazy ass..

Aren't they lazy?!?

This is a fat one!

And I love the sun, surpisingly! It's too cold!

Next, had lunch at Chowders, I have the seafood platter which was fried squid, shrimp, fish and fries. My colleague was right; all American food is about frying! And I have quite enough of it.

All fried!

My favorite visit would be the Aquarium of the Bay at $14.95 with many starfish and stingrays and jellyfish! Awesome! Definitely better than Singapore's. Took many videos there. ^.^

Look out for the shark!

Starfishes~

Big Jellyfish

Small jelly fish..Touching leapord shark!

I had the Dready's 'Red Cherry with Vanilla' ice cream in choc waffle cone which cost USD5.50! Yum yum, but taste a bit like cough medicine coz cherry mah.. We had it outside of the shop which was even colder, while watching the many yatchs parked at the bay. Lovely!

Yum yum~

I love the yatch!

When around Fisherman Wharf and Union Square for the rest of the day which is really cold and tiring as we were walking the whole day!
Fancy a horse ride?

Fisherman's Wharf~

Mr.Bear & me~

The famous & EXPENSIVE Shopping Mall..

Finally before getting back, we had 'Taco' at Mexican Grill which was surprisingly very nice! Yum yum~

Home by 11pm and slept through the 1 hour journey, really very tiring but a good day after all. =)

I finally got my laptop from work today and finally can online from the studio apartment! I arrived safely on Friday night after a total of 15 hours flight and 7 hours of waiting! That is easily more than 24 hours!

We got a studio apartment (Marriott), with a room without door on the 1st floor and a room on the ground floor, which I chose to share with the female colleague, YJ. I love the place as it is very comfortable, with kitchen, living room and fireplace, nice bathroom and heater, very comfortable indeed. It is $130 a day with lovely American breakfast! I think it is very expensive, but what the heck, I am not the one paying! :D

From the outside! Cool huh?

The bedroom, I shared the bed with another girl~

The comfy living room, with fireplace~

The fully equipped kitchen with fridge, dish washer, micowave, stove and cooking utensils~

We got a car rented by our dear company and went to San Francisco on the weekend, both Saturday and Sunday! Luckily, one of my colleagues can drive as the driver side is on the left hand side! It is quite confusing to me, the way you have to turn the car and driving on the different side. And the highway is like 5 lanes and those people drives real fast! I don't think I wanna drive here!

Our rented car, I think around $20 per day or so, the company paying for the rent but we pay for the gas/petrol. Driving to work is like 17 miles per way! (1 miles = 1.6x kilometres! U do the math!)

Within few days, I have taken hundreds of pictures in San Francisco, the foods I have, the things I see, the lovely buildings and everything else! It's really cool and I absolutely like the place!

The weather was quite cold at night and my hands are freezing even though I am wearing gloves. But overall it is manageable if I am to wear 1 or 2 sweaters. I bought a real nice jacket from Macy for a very cheap price too, totally love it!

My sweater from Macy, guess how much is it!?!

But the weather is very dry and I feel that my lip is dry and my skin too. A colleague suggested me to get a humidifier so that it would be better for my skin especially when I sleep at night. I feel thirsty and woke up at the middle of the night! Will search for a suitable and affordable humidifier soon.

But.. it could be better.. I mean the 2 colleagues that are here with me. They both don't see head to head sometimes and sometimes are pretty upset about each other. Only 3 days we are together, can you believe it?!? I have to be the neutral one and hope it doesn't get worse (if it doesn’t get better).

Training will officially start tomorrow. I hope it is manageable but not too heavy. The colleagues here are quite nice too. They treated us lunch today at The Elephant Bar.

The nice lake by the Palace of Fine Art, San Francisco~

I love the hilly and slope-y San Francisco with the design of their houses/buildings!

Me at Golden Gate Bridge! I've made it!!! :D

Don't you just love the view? Could see the Bay Bridge at the back~ SF too..

I’ll be back with more pictures. =)

Here is it, the belly dancing performance video and some pictures, as promised, taken during the annual dinner in Dec.

The original size is nearly 500MB and after many cutting and compressing, I managed to reduce it to 20MB, from 5 minutes to 1 minute and 17 seconds. (so, please bear wif the quality and lotsa cutting)

How I miss going for the belly dancing classes!!!

We arrived ready to Sunway to practise.. and to take pics!!! :D

Let's practise in a circle, put your hands like this~

The colorful belly dancer, talking & laughing~

All were ready and dressed, waiting for our turn to perform! *nervous

It’s a busy, busy week as I have to practice shaking my bum for belly dancing. The performance date is very near and we haven’t perfected every step! Thus we have to stay back after works and practice and practice and practice nearly everyday! I felt like a school kid practicing for school performance!

I reached home around
8 or 9 pm plus daily and shower and take crappy dinner (not much time for preparation and lazy to buy). Very tiring but quite nice and looking forward for the performace.

We have to arrange for the standing position (trust me, it isn’t easy to make 17 ppl happy and see who get to stand on stage, who stand off stage, who can dance better and the different of height and skirts and yes, 17 women!), make use of the small stage, come out with backup plan if it rains (it is open air) and coordinate our top, find unoccupied meeting room to practice, coordinate how to walk in and out of the stage, etc.

We finally got hold of the
tailor made skirt yesterday which cost a bomb! Yeah, it is RM150 for a simple design (read : no design), just a piece of cloth that covers our hips to the ankle, rather long and I am afraid I might step on it and fall, on the stage! My company finally agreed to subsidize RM120 and we have to fork out RM30. But the skirt really doesn’t worth RM150. As it is quite transparent and have 2 high slits to the thigh, I cannot wear it for any occasion in the future! Quite wasted!

Anyway, wish me luck and gracefulness! :D
