Rainbow Waterfall Trip~
Filed Under holiday, photo, fun, weekend | 10 Comments
I have bitten by the virus of I-m-so-lazy-to-update-my-blog. And I must admit the virus attack has getting more serious by the rate I am blogging; from every single day to twice a week and I fear the rate going to drop even further and I am forced to close down the blog. /_\
There are things I can write about which is the Sungai Lembing trip which I bet everyone else would have already written about it. I am 9 days late..
It was a trip of 12 people, not everyone know everyone else but at least each know at least other 3 and at least one person knows everyone, yeah being the co-organizers.
It is a place known for the famous rainbow waterfall and probably nothing else as it is a super-hot small little town which is almost dead. The small town is so peaceful that the villager could just leave their keys on the motorbike! And during the afternoon it is hard to find a place for lunch as most of the shops are not opened, not that there are many to begin with.
We left KL around 9pm after work and reached there after midnight and ‘checked-in’ to a hostel; exceptionally clean wooden house with 4 rooms and mattress that you can choose from.
On Saturday morning, hardly having a wink of sleep, we have to wake up at 4.15am to climb the small hill to watch sunrise! With almost empty stomach, unless you are willing to eat junk food in the morning; which all that we have.
It was a 45 minutes climb which isn’t too difficult if you have some stamina. It was a starry night and the weather was cooling and very fresh! But we reached the peak quite early, around 5am-ish and the sun didn’t rise till around 7am! Plenty of time for those professional photographer to set up their SLR on tripod and the rest chatted and complaining how hungry are we. It was quite a pretty view when the sun finally rose!

After that, we hiked down, had delicious breakfast, and roamed about the small town on foot (which took less than an hour) and back to nap.

Lunch at Kuantan since we couldn’t find a shop that opened for meal! Actually we were glad to escape Sg Lembing as it was unbelievable hot, hot, hot weather!
At night, we had BBQ dinner which we bbq on our own. It was rather fun although a lot of food was wasted. And my insomnia seemed to perish with the lack of sleep the day before. The next morning we have to get up at 5am! Hey, I thought it was a holiday?

Oh Yes, I am exercising!!!
Filed Under fun, weekend | 11 Comments
The health consultant pleaded me to lead a healthier lifestyle; more fruits and vege, include oats in my daily food intake and exercise regularly about 3 times a week. And I vowed to do all that but it just never happened, especially the oat and exercising.
And so, feeling guilty, I joined some friends who were on the expedition to climb Mount Kinabalu weekly training! Nah, I am NOT to climb it!
But since they have ‘training’ to build their stamina weekly, I try to join it as a form of exercising for me.
Last Sunday, we went to Batu Caves early morning by 8am, to climb 272 steps. I only managed to do it 1 round. Reason? Nah, I am NOT tired!!! I just felt a little scared climbing the narrow steps, and I never have phobia in height! The thought of tumbling over the steps and break some bones, keep hovering in my head and I couldn’t make myself to climb for the second round! >_<
This weekend, on the Saturday, we went to Bukit Gasing hiking at 7.30am! I woke up even earlier than my normal working day which was so rare! Anyway, it was my first time to Bukit Gasing and I quite like the area! Peaceful little jungle hiking place which was quite steep at some places and you have to be careful with your steps. But I saw many old people climbing it, so it shouldn’t be a problem for all.
It was all greenery and I simply love it! But the thing was I spent too much time watching my steps than to enjoying the lush surrounding. It took us exactly 90 minutes for the whole hiking trip with a little rest in between. I would definitely go there again!
And yeah, I felt good after that, no muscle pain whatsoever and I could keep up which the other which proves that my stamina is still good although I don’t exercise regularly.
Maybe regular shopping and walking to LRT station daily is good enough as an exercise to me?
There is a Suspension Bridge (Jambatan Gantung) there too~
Find a lot of plants and supposingly-animals as well at that little jungle!

The Cycling Day~!
Filed Under heaf, photo, fun, friend | 8 Comments
Our Genting Highland 1 day trip plan went down to drain when it rained over the weekend as in predicted in the weather forecast. So, we went to Bukit Cahaya or also known as Taman Pertanian at Shah Alam for cycling session instead.
It turned out to be rather fun and enjoyable outdoor activities. Even Yit who doesn't know how to cycle could do it once she got onto the bike. Check out some of the pics that we took!

Ready to start cycling!

Taking the pictures of pretty but arrogant peacock, who immediately opened up his beautiful feathers/tail upon seeing us!!!

Some animals at the Taman Haiwan~

And horses too! But they aren't as friendly as we thought!

Foursome~!

The scenery was nice too, greenish and peaceful!

The 4-Season-House was closed for renovation but we could take a peek there. RM3 for entrance but it was free during renovation~

Some pictures before we left!
It's nice to have some sort of outdoor activities sometimes instead of shopping and watching movies like we always do~

On my second Saturday weekend, I went to San Francisco again, for the third time. Yeah, my life here is all about San Francisco although I really want to go to other places like the Muir Wood, Napa Valley (the winery), Monterey for the nice beach view and other places.
But heck, I am not going to complain. The last time the two of them complaining about each other, they ain't talking to each other till now! I am officially the middle-man now.. >_<
Anyway, back to the San Francisco, which was freezingly cold in the morning and night and stupid me decided not to bring the scarf and hat when I need it most. This time I went to an island which prison that kept the most notorious criminal in US! It is Alcatraz Island which is around 15 minutes of ferry ride from Pier 33 and the trip cost USD24.50! The most expensive visit so far and it is a building of prisons and all the small cells and stuffs. Pretty neat but too expensive!
The small horrifying cells..
Cells at Alcatraz Island..Rows of loneliness that could haunt you days & nights..
There are few rows, 3 floors, dark, small & scary.. I can't imagine staying here for years! Or lifetime! Some tried escaped but..
The inmates/criminals..
Next we went to the see the Arrival of Sea Lions events at Pier 39 but all the sea lions just lazing around under the sun and did nothing much! Watched for like 15 minutes and quite disappointed as I thought I could view from near and they'll do something except for napping! The fat, lazy ass..
Aren't they lazy?!?
This is a fat one!
And I love the sun, surpisingly! It's too cold!
Next, had lunch at Chowders, I have the seafood platter which was fried squid, shrimp, fish and fries. My colleague was right; all American food is about frying! And I have quite enough of it.
All fried!
My favorite visit would be the Aquarium of the Bay at $14.95 with many starfish and stingrays and jellyfish! Awesome! Definitely better than Singapore's. Took many videos there. ^.^
Look out for the shark!
Starfishes~
Big Jellyfish
Small jelly fish..
Touching leapord shark!
I had the Dready's 'Red Cherry with Vanilla' ice cream in choc waffle cone which cost USD5.50! Yum yum, but taste a bit like cough medicine coz cherry mah.. We had it outside of the shop which was even colder, while watching the many yatchs parked at the bay. Lovely!
Yum yum~
I love the yatch!
When around Fisherman Wharf and Union Square for the rest of the day which is really cold and tiring as we were walking the whole day!
Fancy a horse ride?
Fisherman's Wharf~
Mr.Bear & me~
The famous & EXPENSIVE Shopping Mall..
Finally before getting back, we had 'Taco' at Mexican Grill which was surprisingly very nice! Yum yum~

Home by 11pm and slept through the 1 hour journey, really very tiring but a good day after all. =)

I’m back, virtually!
Filed Under travel, USA, holiday, fun, me, life | 15 Comments
I finally got my laptop from work today and finally can online from the studio apartment! I arrived safely on Friday night after a total of 15 hours flight and 7 hours of waiting! That is easily more than 24 hours!
We got a studio apartment (Marriott), with a room without door on the 1st floor and a room on the ground floor, which I chose to share with the female colleague, YJ. I love the place as it is very comfortable, with kitchen, living room and fireplace, nice bathroom and heater, very comfortable indeed. It is $130 a day with lovely American breakfast! I think it is very expensive, but what the heck, I am not the one paying!
From the outside! Cool huh?
The bedroom, I shared the bed with another girl~
The comfy living room, with fireplace~
The fully equipped kitchen with fridge, dish washer, micowave, stove and cooking utensils~
We got a car rented by our dear company and went to San Francisco on the weekend, both Saturday and Sunday! Luckily, one of my colleagues can drive as the driver side is on the left hand side! It is quite confusing to me, the way you have to turn the car and driving on the different side. And the highway is like 5 lanes and those people drives real fast! I don't think I wanna drive here!
Our rented car, I think around $20 per day or so, the company paying for the rent but we pay for the gas/petrol. Driving to work is like 17 miles per way! (1 miles = 1.6x kilometres! U do the math!)
Within few days, I have taken hundreds of pictures in San Francisco, the foods I have, the things I see, the lovely buildings and everything else! It's really cool and I absolutely like the place!
The weather was quite cold at night and my hands are freezing even though I am wearing gloves. But overall it is manageable if I am to wear 1 or 2 sweaters. I bought a real nice jacket from Macy for a very cheap price too, totally love it!
My sweater from Macy, guess how much is it!?!
But the weather is very dry and I feel that my lip is dry and my skin too. A colleague suggested me to get a humidifier so that it would be better for my skin especially when I sleep at night. I feel thirsty and woke up at the middle of the night! Will search for a suitable and affordable humidifier soon.
But.. it could be better.. I mean the 2 colleagues that are here with me. They both don't see head to head sometimes and sometimes are pretty upset about each other. Only 3 days we are together, can you believe it?!? I have to be the neutral one and hope it doesn't get worse (if it doesn’t get better).
Training will officially start tomorrow. I hope it is manageable but not too heavy. The colleagues here are quite nice too. They treated us lunch today at The Elephant Bar.
The nice lake by the Palace of Fine Art, San Francisco~
I love the hilly and slope-y San Francisco with the design of their houses/buildings!
Me at Golden Gate Bridge! I've made it!!!
Don't you just love the view? Could see the Bay Bridge at the back~ SF too..
I’ll be back with more pictures. =)

Belly Dancing Performance~!
Filed Under dance, fun, colleague | 14 Comments
Here is it, the belly dancing performance video and some pictures, as promised, taken during the annual dinner in Dec.
The original size is nearly 500MB and after many cutting and compressing, I managed to reduce it to 20MB, from 5 minutes to 1 minute and 17 seconds. (so, please bear wif the quality and lotsa cutting)
How I miss going for the belly dancing classes!!!
We arrived ready to Sunway to practise.. and to take pics!!!
Let's practise in a circle, put your hands like this~
The colorful belly dancer, talking & laughing~
All were ready and dressed, waiting for our turn to perform! *nervous*

We gonna shake it!
Filed Under dance, fun | 12 Comments
It’s a busy, busy week as I have to practice shaking my bum for belly dancing. The performance date is very near and we haven’t perfected every step! Thus we have to stay back after works and practice and practice and practice nearly everyday! I felt like a school kid practicing for school performance!
I reached home around 8 or 9 pm plus daily and shower and take crappy dinner (not much time for preparation and lazy to buy). Very tiring but quite nice and looking forward for the performace.
We have to arrange for the standing position (trust me, it isn’t easy to make 17 ppl happy and see who get to stand on stage, who stand off stage, who can dance better and the different of height and skirts and yes, 17 women!), make use of the small stage, come out with backup plan if it rains (it is open air) and coordinate our top, find unoccupied meeting room to practice, coordinate how to walk in and out of the stage, etc.
We finally got hold of the tailor made skirt yesterday which cost a bomb! Yeah, it is RM150 for a simple design (read : no design), just a piece of cloth that covers our hips to the ankle, rather long and I am afraid I might step on it and fall, on the stage! My company finally agreed to subsidize RM120 and we have to fork out RM30. But the skirt really doesn’t worth RM150. As it is quite transparent and have 2 high slits to the thigh, I cannot wear it for any occasion in the future! Quite wasted!
Anyway, wish me luck and gracefulness!

A HEAF-ian birthday~
Filed Under fun, housemate, life | 4 Comments
Yesterday was Sean’s birthday and he was turning 28th!!! We didn’t have any plan for him as it was weekday and we planned to celebrate it on weekend. But I suppose it turned out as a nice birthday when all of HEAF members came and fetch me from the LRT after my belly dancing class! We joined the MyFM road runner show at Taman Bahagia (and won neat prizes, lucky us!!!) and a fun dinner at Taman Megah, followed by a mini cake for him!
Sean insisted us to buy him an air cooler using his own credit card but we pay him in cash! Well, we are nice housemates so we let him decided what he wants. At first it crosses my mind to give him more domains and hosting as he is really crazy about blogging right now. And we could get cheaper price with Register.com coupons! But then, as long as he is happy with his present (even though I think he didn’t quite like it as it is not up to his expectation!)
Exactly a month later, it would be my birthday and Christmas! Of course I am not going to be like him to force them to buy me a present though they really could check out the online coupons for many good deals like the Spafinder Coupons.
There are birthdays each month from Sept to Dec in our HEAF home! I think more people were born during the end of the years, wonder why..

Team Building Day 2~
Filed Under fun, colleague, weekend | 13 Comments
On second day, my roommate and I woke up at around 6.45am and showered! After a nice breakfast, we started to head to the field around 8.15am for another day full of activities!
On the very first day, each of us was given a balloon with water and we have to bring it everywhere we go and must take care of it. If we lost it, marks would be deducted from our team.
The first game was Flying Fox which required us to climb up this vertical stairs for 4 storeys! It was very tiring for some. For me it was rather okay, perhaps my body is light. Of course they have a safety rope as to ensure your safety (just in case you are too tired and let go of your grip!)
After that you have to sit on the edge with the safety rope tight safely. After you are ready, with full courage, you need to push yourself to slide down the rope. It takes a lot of courage to do that. I asked the instructor to push me but he refused! So I pushed myself down which was really terrifying!!! I wanted to scream but my voice stuck in my throat.. It was really the most terrifying activity for me though I thought I could do it well. >_<
To some, it is even worse! Take this colleague of mine for example. He was sitting there at the edge for a long time as he didnt dare to push himself down! We kept encouraged him from the fields but he just wouldn't come down. A teammate went up and tried to talk to him, even ungripping his fingers from the sidebar but to no avail. Finally after what seems like forever, he finally climbed and hanged himself as in the picture and slowly let himself down.
In every game, we have a buddy to help, guide and encourage us through the activities. This was my buddy and me, running back after she finished her flying fox!
The second game of the day was High Ropes, the most challenging game of all! You have to walk through the ropes, high above the ground in 5 stages. Man, it really takes a lot of courage to do this! To make things worst, it started to rain when I was halfway through the game, when I was stucked high above the ground!
This needs a lot of effort, especially if you are not that tall..
The second stage of the high ropes, walking on a rope and holding on another horizontal rope above you. This was rather okay compare to the next one!!!
This is the toughest stage of all, walking through the rope, holding vertical ropes (with a tyre tied down at the bottom)! You have to hold the top part of the rope with your right hand and bottom part of the rope with left hand (which you will definitely forgot when you are up there. So, that is why your buddy needs to guide and help you from the ground)!
You have to move from one end to another end by holding to the vertical rope tied to a tyre. When it was my turn, it started to rain!!! I nearly felt down when I was grabbing for the third rope which was a little far! But I hanged on tightly to the second vertical rope, closing my eyes and stood firmly on the rope. They shouted for me to calm down and be stable before I moved on. I tried to do just that and then I realised that both my legs are shaking!!! Arrghh.. I learnt that it was best to make small movement as you walk so that it would be more stable!
But hey, I made it after that and instantly felt so happy!!!
But the very same colleague who were dramatic at the Flying Fox got some attention from all of us again. He refused to hold on to the vertical rope and insisted of grabbing the horizontal rope above instead. After much encouragements and promises to him, he still refused to do it properly. The instructor gave up and asked him to hold it as he wished! (as in the picture)
This was the last stage of the high ropes! Yeay!!! I did it!!! So happy

The top pictures were my breakfast, with coffee too. The rest are our delicious Dim Sum lunch, halal food though. I love the baby octopus, scallops and the shark fin soup.

My favourite Chee Cheung Fan (made of rice noodles with prawn n bbq chicken inside), prawns, fish balls and fish balls with tofu.

Fu zhuk with filling, small pau, siew mai and very nice Gui Ling Gou (herbal jelly)~
My buddy, team leader, team mates and I after the lunch~
After lunch, each team had to draw a game that we played and the 10 values that we learnt from it. Here was ours!
After that all of us need to present it. We have other indoor activities too before we have tea break and leave for home! It was a good team building after all.
A very good experience.

Good bye, Allson Klana Resort!!!

1st day of Team Building~
Filed Under fun, colleague, weekend | 11 Comments
The team building is held at Allson Klana Resort of Seremban, which I think was a great place (not that I have any team building experience for comparison)! We reached there around 10.30am by a bus and a van, roughly around 50 people. The instructors started with some fun games to make us in the mood for activities and divided us into group of four. I was in the Green team with 12 members and the team name : Heroes!
This is our flag which we designed together but I drew and wrote on the cloth~
The 'Heroes' doing the war cry~
After all the initial activities, we checked in to our room, twin sharing. The room was rather nice~
Lunch time!!! It was buffet style, and I was tempted to eat a lot but then we have outdoor activities later! :S
My first plate, rather yummy~
Second helping, with the yummy fried chicken and saucy fish~
The dessert, a scoop of strawberry ice cream with some cocktails~ Yummy~
Our first outdoor game : Repelling! This was the game I was scared of the most when I saw the pictures showed by my colleagues who have been to the team building! Going down the wall from 5 storeys using a single rope!
But hey, no fear, it was controlled by 2 safety officer that we picked from our team members. They could control the speed of the rope. The instructor at the top would also control another rope. So, rather safe. UNLESS you bang yourself against the wall, if you kick with one leg instead of two legs!
That's me! It wasn't as difficult as I thought and I didn't look down when I climbed over the window, as advised by my colleague. It was rather smooth!
Gee! I have made it! My first small little victory of overcoming my fear~ It felt great!!!
The next game was the Spider Web. There were more than 20 holes and we have to go through the holes without touching the rope. Each hole can only be used once and it would be sealed if we accidentally touch it or after using it! We have 21 people and 24 holes! Ahh.. only 3 holes for mistake!
The holes were of different sizes, so the small people (ahem, like me) have to go through the small hole and big fella going through big holes. It needs a lot of planning as we have to move from one side to another, so if we are to carry people, we have to make sure some people from the other side is going to support them. And some holes for the last ones to go over!
And so the carrying begin! Two large fellas went through the big holes and we started to transfer people over.
Find the right hole for each one, within 45 minutes!
Keep your butt down! Some have to crawl over the hole which was too low!
How about me? The last big fella who was still on the other side! But fear not, we have reserved a hole for him!
We broke the record of the last few months as we could transferred all within the period time given & 8 minutes to spare!!!
But the other teams were not as lucky! They were punished as all the holes were used but they still have people that wasn't transferred to the other side. Yeah, got to do Commando Crawl.. Yikes.. dirty…!
Next was the game that I dislike most : Treasure Hunt. I hate searching for a small clue and we have to run around after the 2 activities for an hour, with a lot of mosquitoes around! Yikes..!
My teammates and I~
After that 3 outdoor activities, we were given time to shower and take dinner. I forgot to take the pictures of my main course, coz too hungry! The first picture was my 2nd helping of dinner, with delicious SzeChuan soup, some fruits and desserts. The ham and cheese sandwich were for tea time.
After that we have the game of guessing the movie title! It was funny and fun!
Next we have the dancing game where we would dance when the music was playing. Once the music stopped, you have to stop! Phew.. it lasted till 11pm!
Off to sleep after that..
