DT reminded me of the this tales, happened to me quite some times ago, around 6 years back in my last semester in the uni. Well, it was the first time ever in my life I was going to get my own room, very excited! After the industrial training in Infineon Technologies, Malacca, I had to do my last semester in Skudai Johor.

So, my coursemates and I, 3 of us rented a single storey house at Taman Universiti, Skudai. It was kinda cheap, only RM500 per house and there was 3 rooms, each of us get one each. I took the last room which I like it a lot, just the nice size. CW, the only guy among us took the master room which was right in front of the house. Yun took the middle room with very high ceiling.

One night, not long after we moved in, I was sleeping alone in my room, probably around near midnight. And as I was halfway transported to the dreamland, I heard someone knocking, or more precisely hammering on the wall. The noise came from the master room. And so I cursed CW quietly for making such a din in the middle of the night. In my head, I put a mental note to scold him tomorrow for being so inconsiderate. But soon, I felt asleep.

Well, I forgot about it the next day. There was this couple of cute kids staying next to my house. A boy aged around 8 and a girl around 6, the cutest thing ever! They always come over to my house to play and I love painting her little toenails. She got the curliest hair and the adorable face.

Back to my story, one day the mother of the kids asked us why CW always hammered the wall in the middle of the night! Their room was next to CW master room, sharing the same wall. And I suddenly remembered what I heard the other night and so Yun and I asked him. But he said HE NEVER DID HAMMER THE WALL! Not even once!

That was really eerie. It didn’t stop there. The lady next door had been complaining that she heard it many times and CW swore he never did. It was really weird, apart from that nothing really happened. And of course if you didn’t take into account of the leaking tank of the bathroom in the middle of the house. It started as a small stream on the white wall. So the landlord had someone to fix it but it kept leaking after fixing (for many times).

And after a couple of weeks, the small stream on the wall had spread into the whole wall, with fungus on it and look more like a wall on the haunted house. Sometimes the floor was wet too (right in the center of the house!). We were kinda brave back then and we actually made fun of it, saying the lady ghost was interested in CW. I think he got scared too and try to go out of the house when the knocking time begins. He never heard of it though.

The first house I stayed in Taman Universiti was a double storey house with 4 rooms. Yun and I took the smallest room and we stayed there happily for 2 and half years. The only weird thing ever happened was the fluorescent light would suddenly went off by itself for quite some time and then it was okay again by itself, for no apparent reason. It happened so frequent that we got used to it.

And a string of bad lucks I had, losing my purse, losing my bag, broke my collar bone, losing money and other stuffs. Apart that that, nothing bad/weird really happened. But apparently, when we were about to move out, the other housemate finally confessed that when we were moving in, there where 3 joss-sticks placed right in front of our room’s door!!! Well, for your info, joss sticks are often burned for Chinese religious purpose, not a too good sign if you know what I mean! >_<
