It’s funny how seldom I go for trip with my bunch of besties, although we know each other practically our whole lives; some since we were like 6! Apart from the school trips, so far I only went to Genting and Tioman with them. Tioman was like 5 years back! (=.=)”

And after persistent D trying to organise this one day trip (it is tough to get all of us together for the whole day as some has family and work commitment), we finally made it to Cape Rochado (or the less glamour name of Tanjung Tuan), a secluded area which is 10km from Port Dickson.

It was a chatty trip, with everyone updating each other and also discussed about the politic! Man, are we getting older or what? I don’t remember politic being one of our major topics when we got together. Anyway, being the one that couldn’t care less about the politic, I did learn a lot of info from them. Like the son in law of … well, I am sure you know.. :P

The hiking was a rather short one as I think we could have completed the one way journey to the light house and down to the quiet, private beach within half an hour. But we took our sweet time and thus took nearly an hour.

And I involuntarily offered my both bare arms as buffet for the millions of mosquitoes that were in the jungle. It doesn’t matter that I already spread both of my arms with layers of axe oil, they just kept coming back and suck blood out of me merciless! Damn!

We found the spot of quiet beach which was clean, beautiful and peaceful! Nobody was there except for us, which reminded me of Tioman Island where there wasn’t other visitors except for us! Which naturally means we could make as much noise as we want, chat and do stupid pose on the camera without having anyone eyeing on us.

I just felt relaxed and happy and contented and wondered why we didn’t do this more often. It was a simple trip but it not the destination that counts, it is the participants that make you feel different and happy. (^.^)

And after about 2 hours, we walked to the main beach which have many people; picnic-ing, swimming, banana-boating, jet-skiing, building sand castle and canoeing!

Again, on D persistent, I finally tried the canoe for the first time in my life! RM15 per canoe for an hour and I succeeded fighting for Pmes as my partner from Ren. The stupid sun that has been hiding for the whole journey decided to came out when we stepped into the water at around 5.15pm! Man, I felt that I was baked, without any sun block protection at all! (=.=)”

Pmes has experienced in canoeing which makes me quite relax, forgetting my mother advice of not going into water. It was fun, relaxing and also tiring when you paddle too much. But it was a private time where I get to chat with her, which was nice.

And yes, for the record, we lost to Ren and D when trying to get to the other end (smirk all you want) and we our canoe got stuck at the shallow part of the water. We have to get down and push our canoe to the water again and went to another way to reach the beach. Home by 10pm. Totally exhausted but it was fun. It was good. =)

Yes, we got up at 5am to go to the Rainbow Waterfall, a much harder attempt since we were already deprived of sleep. But thank God, we were brought to the ‘pasar’ for a quick breakfast first. 2 half boiled eggs, toasted bread and teh-si-peng~ (^.^) My ideal breakfast~

Next we climbed on a lorry and sat there for one and half hour of trip on the ‘jungle’! It was a very bumpy ride as there wasn’t any paved path but only a track full of stones. The lorry even waded small streams and the uneven journey was really a horrible one!

We have to grip tightly or else we might slipped off our seat, which was just bench on the lorry, with no cover on top of the lorry. We were just exposed to the rain or the sun (or those tree branches during the journey). (=.=)”

I was glad when we arrived and I thought that’s it, where was my rainbow??? To my dismay, we have to hike for an hour through the jungle. It was not an easy one since we have to go through some rivers with the slippery rocks and stuffs.

I wasn’t mentally prepared for it and thus find it even tougher. But finally, after being bitten by 3 leeches I finally reached the waterfall!

And… it wasn’t a huge one as expected too. But boy, wasn’t I glad to be seated down and enjoy the scenery and gobbled down the ‘chee cheung fun’ that we we brought along.

And not long after that, many tourists arrived and the place turned into a market with all the noise, people cheering and shouting, smoking, cooking instant noodles and stuffs. (=.=)"

And yeah, I saw the rainbow around 10am when the sun shines and it was quite constant. Anyway, we were told that we are lucky as it doesn’t appear everyday. (^.^)

And I braved myself back to the hiking which took 45 minutes and 2 hours of bumpy lorry ride under the mercy of hot scorching sun!!! T.T

That’s it. I shall never be back Sg Lembing. Those who have never go before can go at least once for experience. But twice is a little too much for trip like this. =P

This picture is taken while roaming the small town of Sg Lembing. Colorful houses of the small town. ^.^

I have bitten by the virus of I-m-so-lazy-to-update-my-blog. And I must admit the virus attack has getting more serious by the rate I am blogging; from every single day to twice a week and I fear the rate going to drop even further and I am forced to close down the blog. /_\

There are things I can write about which is the Sungai Lembing trip which I bet everyone else would have already written about it. I am 9 days late..

It was a trip of 12 people, not everyone know everyone else but at least each know at least other 3 and at least one person knows everyone, yeah being the co-organizers.

It is a place known for the famous rainbow waterfall and probably nothing else as it is a super-hot small little town which is almost dead. The small town is so peaceful that the villager could just leave their keys on the motorbike! And during the afternoon it is hard to find a place for lunch as most of the shops are not opened, not that there are many to begin with.

We left KL around 9pm after work and reached there after midnight and ‘checked-in’ to a hostel; exceptionally clean wooden house with 4 rooms and mattress that you can choose from.

On Saturday morning, hardly having a wink of sleep, we have to wake up at 4.15am to climb the small hill to watch sunrise! With almost empty stomach, unless you are willing to eat junk food in the morning; which all that we have.

It was a 45 minutes climb which isn’t too difficult if you have some stamina. It was a starry night and the weather was cooling and very fresh! But we reached the peak quite early, around 5am-ish and the sun didn’t rise till around 7am!    Plenty of time for those professional photographer to set up their SLR on tripod and the rest chatted and complaining how hungry are we. It was quite a pretty view when the sun finally rose!

After that, we hiked down, had delicious breakfast, and roamed about the small town on foot (which took less than an hour) and back to nap.

Lunch at Kuantan since we couldn’t find a shop that opened for meal! Actually we were glad to escape Sg Lembing as it was unbelievable hot, hot, hot weather!

At night, we had BBQ dinner which we bbq on our own. It was rather fun although a lot of food was wasted. And my insomnia seemed to perish with the lack of sleep the day before. The next morning we have to get up at 5am! Hey, I thought it was a holiday?

<to be cont..>

During the 4 hours boat ride, we stopped twice on the island. This is the first stop :

We stopped by an island with spectacular caves, high ceilings and… well, I didn't listen to the history by the tour guide as I was too busy capturing pictures..

The cave, very beautiful.. better than Gua Tempurung..

We had our lunch on the boat, which was prepared on the boat too! What water was being used to cook? I was a little worried. But it tasted OK and some were nice too since we were hungry..

The sun finally revealed itself after lunch, making the sky so blue and it was lovely! But it was the end of the 4 hours boat trip. Heading back to the mainland..

Upon reaching mainland, we were back on the little bus and headed back to Hanoi on the 4-5 hours journey~!

Most of the people in Vietnam work in the agricultural sector and you could see a lot of paddy fields along the way.

According to "Sun", our tour guides, women in Vietnam are very hard working and faithful to their husband. They would do all the hard work and serve their husband well.
Vietnam wives, anyone? (I think only costing around RM20K for a permanent maid that could bear you children and serve you well! Pretty too! Good deal, eh?)

In one occasion, "Sun" said, woman can never say no. Ahhh, I wondered if he really meant it. Try Malaysian woman, they can say louder no than man and nothing makes them to do against their will (or at least me). :P

I see a lot of mobile sellers on the street; either on their bicycle or by foot and mostly woman! Their products range from varieties of fruits, household stuffs, clothing, accessories and even bra; which they carry on the two baskets, balancing on their shoulder with a rod.

Another different culture is most Vietnamese like to sit at the "mini stalls" by the roadside with ridiculously small stools! I think they served food and drinks but I didn't have chance to try any of it. According to SlowCatchUpKuan who tried them, some was rather nice.

The tour guide said the stools are small so that they can run faster when the police come after them as it was illegal stalls. There are just too many stalls along the way though. And people likes sit by the roadside either for chit chatting or for a game of chess! So relaxing (and dusty)!

You can see many "mini stalls" at the road side~

So what's with Hanoi? The country barely achieved their independence less than 30 years. So it is like Malaysian in the seventies I suppose, which I wasn't even born yet!

It is rather mundane town with some old classical buildings, all slim and tall. It was slim as everyone wants a piece of land by the roadside and thus they are given a narrow land but the people could build as high as they want. So many buildings are 3 storeys and above and people do business in front of the house. But it was a pretty sight as if you stepped back into older times.

Our tour guide, known as "Sun" (his given name) told us that there are 3 slim things in Hanoi.

- First is the person, they are mostly slim! It's true! I hardly see any fat people there.
- Second is the building. Slim and tall~ Graceful~!

- Third is their road! Slim but messy with traffics coming from all the direction, full of honking that drives you crazy!

Another thing I noticed is their cables by the roadside! Man, how messy they could be! One electrical pole has so many cables coming out of it and I really wondered how the electricians work on them and how dangerous could it be!

Here is the picture of Hanoi city from my hotel room in the morning (courtesy of kyife) : :

Here is the photo at night from my hotel room (courtesy of kyife) :
B.e.a.u.tiful~!

I am back from Hanoi on Saturday, with the early flight at 9.30am Vietnam time (an hour earlier than Malaysia).

Hmm.. is it fun and beautiful? Well, Hanoi is a cultural city and Halong is a beautiful place with wonderful island, perfect for photography. But for shopaholic like me, I suppose the place isn’t half as cool as Bangkok. (
What is holiday without shopping, right?)

The food? Hmm.. it is too much fried and too plain too. As I was following tour package, I didn’t have a chance to taste those street food but all I had was in the restaurant. Some was good (perhaps I was hungry) and some was so so only. Which makes me wonder why Vietnam Kitchen (in One Utama) food is so good?

I didn’t even get to try the Vietnam coffee. Yes, I know, what a waste! Only coffee in the hotel during breakfast which was good enough for me.

Buildings there are quite nice too, slim and tall with nice designs and colours. It reminds me a little of the buildings in San Francisco. Cool!

The people? They speak mostly Vietnamese and very few speak Mandarin and English which makes communication a little difficult. But I think the people are generally quite slim and pretty. Fair and lovely~

Their main transportation is bike and bicycle and boy, how they love to honk! You could hear honking coming from everywhere every seconds, day and night. Their traffic is in real mess and everyone turns everywhere as they pleased.

And yup, as it was a place for photography I took more than 1000 pictures! And now I am having hard time filtering them. Aikss… I’ll be posting them soon, or so I hope!

Oh gosh, back to work.. holiday is over.. =(

I’m off to Hanoi, Vietnam today!!!

I remembered reading SlowCatchUpKuan’s entry about her trip to Hanoi; on how she miscalculated and got an early flight and have to wake up very, very early to catch the flight!

And well, though it is not my miscalculation (as I would have learnt from her lesson), I still have to wake up by 3.30 am as my flight is at 6am!!! No, I wasn’t the organiser and didn’t know till last minute. (=.=)”

Anyway, I am taking a tour 4D3N package trip at ridiculous price of RM1.5K, including flight, accommodation, tour and meals; but the good thing is I got 50% off~ And I sure hope it would worth my $$$. And hope no rain as the forecast shows 'Scattered Thunderstorm' for the 4 days! >_<

Will be visiting the beautiful Hanoi and some tourist place. Hope it nice and hope I can shop too. My only knowledge of Hanoi is what I read about from SlowCatchUpKuan’s blog as she wrote quite details and put many nice pictures~

So, here I go! Will be back by Saturday~!!! ;)

I finally got my laptop from work today and finally can online from the studio apartment! I arrived safely on Friday night after a total of 15 hours flight and 7 hours of waiting! That is easily more than 24 hours!

We got a studio apartment (Marriott), with a room without door on the 1st floor and a room on the ground floor, which I chose to share with the female colleague, YJ. I love the place as it is very comfortable, with kitchen, living room and fireplace, nice bathroom and heater, very comfortable indeed. It is $130 a day with lovely American breakfast! I think it is very expensive, but what the heck, I am not the one paying! :D

From the outside! Cool huh?

The bedroom, I shared the bed with another girl~

The comfy living room, with fireplace~

The fully equipped kitchen with fridge, dish washer, micowave, stove and cooking utensils~

We got a car rented by our dear company and went to San Francisco on the weekend, both Saturday and Sunday! Luckily, one of my colleagues can drive as the driver side is on the left hand side! It is quite confusing to me, the way you have to turn the car and driving on the different side. And the highway is like 5 lanes and those people drives real fast! I don't think I wanna drive here!

Our rented car, I think around $20 per day or so, the company paying for the rent but we pay for the gas/petrol. Driving to work is like 17 miles per way! (1 miles = 1.6x kilometres! U do the math!)

Within few days, I have taken hundreds of pictures in San Francisco, the foods I have, the things I see, the lovely buildings and everything else! It's really cool and I absolutely like the place!

The weather was quite cold at night and my hands are freezing even though I am wearing gloves. But overall it is manageable if I am to wear 1 or 2 sweaters. I bought a real nice jacket from Macy for a very cheap price too, totally love it!

My sweater from Macy, guess how much is it!?!

But the weather is very dry and I feel that my lip is dry and my skin too. A colleague suggested me to get a humidifier so that it would be better for my skin especially when I sleep at night. I feel thirsty and woke up at the middle of the night! Will search for a suitable and affordable humidifier soon.

But.. it could be better.. I mean the 2 colleagues that are here with me. They both don't see head to head sometimes and sometimes are pretty upset about each other. Only 3 days we are together, can you believe it?!? I have to be the neutral one and hope it doesn't get worse (if it doesn’t get better).

Training will officially start tomorrow. I hope it is manageable but not too heavy. The colleagues here are quite nice too. They treated us lunch today at The Elephant Bar.

The nice lake by the Palace of Fine Art, San Francisco~

I love the hilly and slope-y San Francisco with the design of their houses/buildings!

Me at Golden Gate Bridge! I've made it!!! :D

Don't you just love the view? Could see the Bay Bridge at the back~ SF too..

I’ll be back with more pictures. =)

I like Christmas, always do! I feel it much more than Chinese New Year as there’s presents to buy, to anticipate and to receive.

It is a festival of joy, plenty of holidays. But it also means a quiet house as everyone is going back for the long holiday. I mean my housemates. Including me, for a couple of days!

Anyway, to those celebrating, wish you a Merry Christmas and the rest, happy holidays!

One of the biggest difference I noticed in Bangkok,Thailand and Malaysia, after a little while there, are the cabs! Their cabs (or general vehicle on the roads) are higher class than Malaysia! I guess it is due to the fact that they do not manufacture local car, thus the imported cars, like Toyota (found abundantly there) are much cheaper than Malaysia. Could see so many colourful Yaris there, so nice! Don't you wish we do not manufacture our own car??? Then I would own a Yaris instead of Myvi :S

So the cabs are much better than our old Iswara taxi here (sometimes it stink!). They use Toyota Altis, Nissan, Mitsubishi Lancer and etc as cab! Feel more worth to take the cabs there and it isn’t very expensive either. When you board into the cab, the metre is at 350 Baht(around RM3.50 or USD1) which is more expensive than RM2 at Malaysia but generally I feel that the metre is going much slower than here!

The minimum cab fare I took was at 410Baht and maximum around 900Baht (when there was traffic jam and the destination was rather far!)  So it was rather affordable to travel around with cab, which I did. Except for that one time I travelled by TukTuk. :)

The cabs here are very attractive too!  Reason? It is so colourful and  striking! I simply love it thus I took more than 40 pictures of the colourful cabs. Here are some of them :

 An orange and yellow/green cab!

Striking pink!!! So hot!

Red and blue!

White one.. This color a little rare..

Red chilly cab! Hot!

Purplish with blue line~

Purple with orange line~ Nice color!

Whole bright blue~ Altis..

Limosine? Or what you call that?

Striking Yellow!

Colourful, isn't it? Actually there are a lot of cabs on the road. Probably 20%.. just my rough estimation ..

I like this one, shocking pink with bright blue~

Yellow and Green~

Hot orangy!

Strawberry Icing pink with white stripe~ Yummy~

I think I boarded nearly all color of cabs there. :D

Believe it or not, our neighbour counterparts (Thailand) are more loving and loyal to their king than us! On the last day, I noticed many people were wearing yellow in colour as there was a big day of their king (not so sure what day is that, but I think it's their King's Birthday). No wonder I saw a lot of places selling yellow shirts.

Spots the yellow on the street! Not Digi man of course!

Yellow shirts for sale!

Spots the yellow on the street!

Yellow everywhere~

Yellow here & there.

Yellow in the bus too~

Yellow cab driver..

Yellow on de bike..

Yellow in TukTuk..

Yellow piggie too~ :D

King picture on the road..

Respect their king..

Is there something we can learn here or are there better reasons? :D
