Yesterday was Sean’s birthday and he was turning 28th!!! We didn’t have any plan for him as it was weekday and we planned to celebrate it on weekend. But I suppose it turned out as a nice birthday when all of HEAF members came and fetch me from the LRT after my belly dancing class! We joined the MyFM road runner show at Taman Bahagia (and won neat prizes, lucky us!!!) and a fun dinner at Taman Megah, followed by a mini cake for him!

Sean insisted us to buy him an air cooler using his own credit card but we pay him in cash! Well, we are nice housemates so we let him decided what he wants. At first it crosses my mind to give him more domains and hosting as he is really crazy about blogging right now. And we could get cheaper price with Register.com coupons! But then, as long as he is happy with his present (even though I think he didn’t quite like it as it is not up to his expectation!)

Exactly a month later, it would be my birthday and Christmas! Of course I am not going to be like him to force them to buy me a present though they really could check out the online coupons for many good deals like the Spafinder Coupons. :P There are birthdays each month from Sept to Dec in our HEAF home! I think more people were born during the end of the years, wonder why.. :D

HEAF (my current house’s name) is proud to present new addition to our happy family! Nah, we didn’t get more members, as the current numbers of members are too many to be handled with each has different personality and habits.

I wish it is a dog too, preferably an adorable schnauzer or a strong golden retriever. But with all of us working full time and a tiny compound, it is almost impossible. Plus, with our lazy nature, it’s best to do without one, for the moment at least.

Wise Al understood our personalities well and instead, he got KE a tank of fishes! Yup, 10 little fishes (which looks a little panic all the time, swimming around hysterically, perhaps still am not familiar with the new place) in a little aquarium, with the water filter, light, food and everything it needs. And we put it in the middle of the living room on the cluttered table, making the whole messy room looks more alive and cheery~

The aquarium on a whole. pretty neat, isn't it?

I read somewhere before that it helps to de-stress by looking at the fish tank at near distance with the light off (except for the aquarium light) and watching the fishes swimming around. Good to release stress and promote calming effect. True? I am not too sure but I guess it certainly is a better replacement of Sean’s little fishes (that was named Shark and Jaws in a mini tank but died on the way back to his hometown).

There's 3 type of fishes in the tank.

How fast they swim around! But how nice to watch them~!

I share a loaf of Gardenia bread, most of the time wholemeal bread, with my beloved housemate, SST every week. Reason is there is 14 slices of breads in a pack and I couldn’t finish it within 4 days by myself. If we buy on Sunday night, it can only last till Thursday before it expires.

So we get 7 slices each for a week. So my breakfast is rather predictable as from Mon to Wed/Thurs, I’ll eat bread. Routine. Boring. No choice. But it’s healthy alternatives, which I sometimes make it better with mayonnaise egg or tuna with tomato slices! (must make the night before and keep in refrigerator).

The thing is it is turning me into a naggy-housemate as, well, if you know SST, he is just hmm.. SST. He just couldn’t be bothered, not concern, couldn’t care less about everything and anything! Really! But then… he is a nice fella, always willing to help and rather ‘mild’. Just that you sometimes need to push him a little (when you want him to do something that he might think is unimportant or his memory just fails him to remember). Ok, cannot write too much, he will be reading this post!

Back to the bread story. I realize that I always have to ask him to eat his bread before it expires! I don’t know why it bothers me, but I hate to see his portion of bread expired and thus, wasted in the trash bin. Last Sunday, after I bought the bread, I told him “SST, remember the bread”. He said OK. He didn’t eat the bread.

Monday. SST, tomorrow you eat the bread ok? Ok, he said. But he didn’t eat the bread.

Tuesday. SST, you are taking the bread tomorrow? And he did take 4 slices. *happy* =D

Wednesday. I was already freaking out, as tomorrow was the expired date! And he’ll be flying off to Shanghai on Wed night! And he got 3 more slices to go!

So, when emergency situation like this happen; one day to expiry and there is still breads leftover that I know SST won’t be consuming it, I have to find backup plan! Which means find other housemates like avid-bread-lover Sean or Keone (who can consume the whole pack of bread by alone, without sharing before it expires!) and appeal them to eat it (normally for breakfast). They will only eat it if they're running out of bread, which don't happen all the time!

Sigh.. SST, be good ok? Eat the bread!!!

Ggggrrr…

I am no big fan of steamboat but I don’t mind going for them now and then, especially if the Tom Yam soup base is nice! So last weekend, we declared it a steamboat day! Again four of us (Yit, Sean & KW) when to Klang for the Chen Chen Ho Pulau Ketam Seafood Steamboat. ChenChenHo, situated at Bukit Tinggi 2, Klang has two branches, which is rather near to each other.

Their seafood is very fresh, as it is deliver from Pulau Ketam, a small fishing village nearby, daily! Pulau Ketam is famous for its seafood and even exports them to Taiwan! (Ok ok, I am just stressing how fresh is the seafood here :P) Actually it is a shop owned by KW’s friend, so help her to promote, but the food is really good, no kidding!

We ordered for 3 person’s portion and add a crab, fried fish egg, funny-looking-shelled-seafood, the-dunno-call-what-prawns (as in the steamboat picture below) and etc! The tomyam soup was really delicious, I always love tomyam~!

Well, guess how much we paid for all? Only around RM22 per person, quite cheap as we ate a lot!

Surprisingly, health-freak-Yit ate more crab & the shell-seafood and others than me!

Watch your cholesterol, hon.. ;)

I love 'fu zhuk' most, the upper left corner one~ Especially if it is soaked with tom yam! Yummy!

The the-dunno-call-what-prawns with hard shells. Need skill to remove the shell though but de flesh is tender & delicious~

 The big crabby!

I like this part of the crab! Full of flesh~ Yummy..

Fish eggs!!! I think it is the first time I have it and still can't accept it too well~ Though someone claims that it is better than KFC! :D

The funny-looking-shelled-seafood, my first time eating it too. Very chewy, but Yit likes it..

Last but not least, here is the shop, Chen Chen Ho in Klang~

Yesterday night I taught my houssy, Yit, how to floss her teeth. Flossing is one of my many routines every night, on top of normal brushing, brushing using interdental brush and also gargling using mouth wash. Yeap, I took many minutes cleaning my teeth every night, not am certainly not a freak. Just that it is not easy to keep braced teeth cleaned.

Ok, back to Yit. It was her first time using the floss and she was rather thrilled (or should I use amazed) to find out that there was a lot of hidden leftover in between her teeth after she brushed it. She told me she felt her teeth were so clean and smooth after flossing!

And she couldn’t stop repeating that she would get her own floss the next day and will start to floss daily!

So, do you floss?

It is Sunday night again, a much dreaded hours as tomorrow is drawing near. Somehow I felt that working on Saturday makes it easier to accept Monday. Probably shorter rest time makes one feel less lazy than the long one. =)

Anyway, my Sundays have been quite the same for a long time, since I moved in to HEAF (stands for Happy-Ever-After-Family; my current house shared with another 4 housemates; friends I’ve known for more than 9 years!!!) Anyway, routinely we would walk to the Pasar Malam (night market) near our house around 6pm and stocked up our small fridge with fruits (apples, pears, papaya, lemon), corns and vegetables (ladyfinger, green leafy vege, broccoli, carrot, etc), a whole week supply!

And of course Sunday dinners are almost always from there too, being Mee Siam as the favourite of all, as it was quite tasty~ We would all be crowded at our small dining table and eat together, chatting away happily. Almost like a routine Sunday family dinner. ^.^ Of course, Tung would nearly always joined us as he stayed just opposite our house but then, since his cousin brother came to stay with him a couple of weeks ago, we rarely seen him at our house!

Today was nonetheless the same although it rained from 4pm plus till 7pm plus and it drizzled again after that! This time though, W drove all of us there. So with an umbrella each, we quickly walked to the familiar stalls and purchased the necessities. It was a routine that I really like, which makes me feel part of a family with my friends. That makes me feel that I really do love them although sometimes they never fail to put my patient to test and annoy me quite a bit. ^.^

Mr.SST is as cool as he wish,

Not bothered, not gossipy and neither is he sensitive,

Never ask for his advice as he’ll say as you wish,

But ask for help and you shall receive;

His love for his new blue Vaio never disminish,

Travel, gym and good food he can’t resist,

A young face that doesn’t look like he’s going to thirties,

But in just another one year & eight months and that’s it!

1birth

MrEwe is such a good chatter, on virtual world that’s it;

An eye for sweet eye candy, another for good music~

His duty is to pack the rubbish and wash the basin,

His love for traveling is never diminished,

China to work and New Zealand for backpacking,

Noodles with lemon and sometimes with cheesy,

He hits the gym and counts his penny,

Wish to see him a liitle more happy~
