And why is Microsoft better than MAC again? My friend asked me the other day as he was considering either to get a MAC or Windows new laptop. And so after some googling around, I found a cool website with many microsoft office which is very useful for my friend.
The website is "Web Articles" which from my first impression is clean, sleek and great lay out. I like the clean interface of red header and white background which looks professional. I could easily find the different categories and subcategories with over thousand of articles.

Getting hitched~

I wasn't surprised to hear from another friend that she is planning to get married to her boyfriend of 3 years somewhere in the middle of this year. Well, I suppose this is another good year to get married for the Chinese or simply because we are the marriageable-age! Up until now, I have at least 4 friends planning for a wedding but most of them have yet to start their planning.
As it is probably one of the biggest days of their lives, no doubt that it is to be a wonderful and smooth-sailing day, everything perfect and lovely as it is. I myself are a little terrified of the wedding idea as they are so much to prepare, involving so much planning and people and of course, money! I am so not looking for all the fuss and hassle but as it is once in a lifetime experience, how simple would you like it to be?
Anyway, there are many wedding guide and planner around to help easing the whole complicated procedures of wedding, especially for those who are not good at organizing events. Well, we do not want the grand day to turn upside down with so many relatives and friends attending the wedding, do we?
For a start, one can check out Mywedding which has full of resources just for wedding services, right from choosing the perfect wedding dress to getting a lovely wedding cake and getting the right wedding photographer, caterer and even the reception facility. And of course, a nice honeymoon when everything is finally over!
With a long list to do and prepare, it is helpful to have a guide that can simplify the process as it could get really out of hand. Well, a wedding doesn't have to be stressful; as long as you got all the resources you need and help within reach~

The Loan..
Filed Under Stuff_SR, money, life | 5 Comments
I finally made it, after leaving university for about six years and it sure feels good. When I was in my third year I finally managed to get a study loan worth RM10k from Yayasan Pok Rafeah.
Uh, what’s that again? (you might asked)
It is a private loan from this Yayasan, that was very kind to loan you money for study with no interest at all, believe it or not, it’s true! Not even a cent of interest, but you got to pay them back. But it’s worth it, better than PTPTN, rite?
I was happy at that time, money was coming in. But not when I was paying it off!
It took me 6 years to pay off a non-interest RM10K loan, as there were gaps which I didn’t pay monthly as I should be. So for the last couple of months, I really have to fork out a couple of hundreds monthly and it FINALLY clears off in January 2008!
Wooohooo~~!!!
But then again, now there are still loans that I am paying for my car as well as braces and Dell laptop. And I am so not looking forward for a house loan but dying to own a house. Irony. It's the ULTIMATE loan, someday.
I guess, as a working middle class, many people do have their loan (especially at my age), whether it is car loan, house loan or small business.
But some loans are not easily obtained as they required a lot of documents, guarantors and even strong financial ability for repayment. There aren’t many financial companies like AFS loan which has no application fees but with the lowest interest rate. It can be easily applied through online with a fast approval and no fuss of documents.
For me, one loan down, another three to go!

The hardest thing is always the first step, no matter what it may be; whether to take up a class or do braces or to speak up one mind. It is no wonder that for many who don't have the courage to take the first move, hardly achieve what they want in life or something to improve the condition of their life.
It could be more difficult for those who have a bigger problems and recognizing them, such as addition to drugs or alcohol. Support and help from families or friends are very crucial into helping them taking the first step to recovery
There are many drug rehab around that could help those abusers to recover from the addition as well as improve their life generally as the addition has great impact in their life, study or work as well as their social circles including family and friends.
Drug rehab center has five effective steps that could effectively assist in the recovery of the additions. It would start with detoxification and withdrawal stage, followed by the self control and communication exercises where they are paired together to help each other. The 3rd process will be sauna cleansing and next is study improvement. Lastly, they are educated of drug-frees remedies for discomforts.

My colleague, VP told me that CW does some free lance job by writing providing research help to undergraduates like those writing company. During my university times, we only get help from the seniors for the assignments and I never heard of paying to get help. Nowadays, you can even pay to write term paper and get them done overnight!
How easy and convenient it is to the student, no more staying up late to finish up the task!

Charity is something that I haven’t been doing much all my life, except for the occasional small donations every now and then. Though sometimes I am deeply touched by someone’s grief, I felt that I couldn’t do much to help them with my limited income.
I would definitely want to do more if I can afford it better. Maybe make a little different to someone life would be good. I really am impressed by charity organisations that really reach out beyond their capacity to help those in needs. For example the Boat Angel charity organisation that has a very unique way of building their fund to help others.
They ask for the public kindness to donate a boat campaign, whether big or small to the organisation which will then be sold at eBay. With the money, they would then use it to produce childrens DVD to spread messages to the children and youngster about the dangerous use of drugs, Christian videos and others for our next generations.
With the donation, you could use it for tax exemption and contribute to the society. Well, it might not mean much to the person who does the charity but it could mean the world to the receiving end!

Dubai, the luxurious place!
When we went to team building middle of last month, I shared a hotel room with a colleague of mine. Due to the limited personal time given to us, we have to take time showering and get ready for the next activities. I was thankful for the Discovery Channel, Astro that I could watch on TV when my roomie hit the shower.
One of the very interesting documentaries was Dubai, one of the seven emirates of United Arab Emirates. It was about how they would run out of their valuable resources, Petroleum in the future, which is one of their biggest sources of revenue!!! Thus, the prince of Dubai was looking for ways to generate more income when they are running out of Petroleum, decided to make Dubai a luxury world class travel destination! They have beautiful sandy beaches and great summer all year long which attracted many visitors. However, the beaches land was not enough to support the number of visitors that they would like to have.
Thus, the prince has a vision to build a unique island in a shape of Palm Tree to have longer beaches to accommodate the number of travellers! They hired many famous constructor as well as architecture around the world to build the palm’s shape island. As the prince insisted that the island is made from natural resources, no metal and steel is allowed to be used. It has leads to many problems and in the documentary, I was impressed by how they overcome all the problems, even catering for major earthquakes!
Many Dubai hotels and shopping places would be build in the island to attracts visitors from around the world. They even have 7 stars hotel that is so luxury and high class! The Dubai apartments costs about USD300 per night! A 3 bedroom apartment cost about $399 or more than RM1K a day! It’s nothing that I can afford right now but I must say it is very luxury and stylish!

The education system..
“I heard that they have changed the History subject at school”, said my colleague over lunch the other day.
“Changed it? How could anyone change the history”, I asked, surprised by her statement.
“I don’t know but I heard so”, she added and we continued to discuss our country education system.
Though I don’t know how true it the fact but I am not keen with our country education system which focuses so much on the book and theory stuffs only. Students in Malaysia are much more passive compared to overseas students and our education system is so stiff and rigid.
Anyway, it isn’t like we have many options to choose from, do we? We either send our kids to government school, international school or private school. But at overseas, parents do have the option to home school their kids, which in a very normal choice to them. Take K-12 Free HOmeschool for example. It is a community sponsored home school academy for the parents who choose to opt for home schooling their kids.
They could choose from over many core and elective courses for the kids at there at different learning method such as video, hand project and etc.
