I haven’t been writing a tag for a long long long time! Jeremy C tagged me for this reading tag which I have seen in many blogs.  

Here goes :

Do you remember how you developed a love for reading?

I don’t remember how but I love reading since I was in primary school. When I was in Standard 2, my aunt taught me how to read an english book which I have no idea what the story was about after finished reading it! It was too deep for me but she told me about the story.

I remembered insisting that “daughter” must pronounced as “dAu-ter” instead of “doh-ter” as I thought it sounds like “doctor”! =D

What are some books you read as a child?

Enid Blyton was one of my favorite collection as my cousin from Sg gave them to us. Loved the Enid Blyton adventure series and the magic faraway tree! I also read whatever books that I can get; both english and malay.

What is your favourite genre?

Fiction, romance, thriller, mystery and horror! Recently I like hilarious novel.

Do you have a favourite novel?

Not really. Most of the time after reading a book, I’ll feel that ah, this is the best book ever. But I forgot the story pretty fast.

Where do you usually read?

Mostly reading it while lying on the bed. Sometimes on the chair in my room.

When do you usually read?

At night or weekend noon.

Do you usually have more than one book you are reading at a time?

99% I read only a book at a time.

Do you read nonfiction in a different way or place than you read fiction book?
No.

Do you buy most of the books you read, or borrow them, or check them out of the library?

I like to rent or borrow books. But I do buy book from warehouse book sales or 2^nd hand. Only every now and then I buy a book at full price. I buy magazines monthly though. =P

Do you keep most of the books you buy? If not, what do you do with them?

Yes, I keep all of them (even those that I don’t like). =P

If you have children, what are some of the favorite books you have shared with them? Were they some of the same ones you read as a child?

Probably Enid Blyton book to start off with. It really is amazing and you can really immense into another magical world!

E-book : Confession of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella (a good friend sent it to me after he knew I am looking for it! Thanks!)

Not really. I read whatever I can get.

I haven’t been written a tag for a long time although I was tagged quite a few times over the past months! Soorrryyy!!! But Flsam tagged me again yesterday and it got me thinking, what is my dream gadget? I searched and searched in my head, and I couldn’t find one!

I am not a gadgety-girl, so I was always happy with what I have. I mean I just need a functioning laptop, mobile phone, camera and even MP3. Of course it would be good if the features are great but I wasn’t too picky bout them. I am more of shoes and bags and clothes person!   

But anyway, for the past week, I’ve been thinking of getting a new mobile phone. I have been using my same Nokia 3120 for the past 3 years and it is still functioning fine and I still like it. But looking around with other people’s cool and stylish handphone, I thought I could perhaps get a new one.

But the thing is, I have no idea what is de latest phone or what model is good or high tech. 

So, with this tag, I started to google around and searched at Nokia and Sony Ericson website, wondering if I would prefer a normal or a flip phone. My budget would be around RM1k.

And ta-da… I found this! Nokia 7390!

                            

I totally love the colour and also the designs and features, one of Nokia's L'Amour design collection! I read many reviews on it and it sounds really good, except that some people said it freezes at some point of time. Well..

It has 3MegaPixel camera, 3G and most importantly, FM Radio! Yup, I just want the FM radio.
Anyway, I am not really sure the retail price and I think it would exceed my budget. So, what you think, izzit cool and stylish?

Happy Wednesday and I am going dancing after work with my new pink belly dance scarf

Today is Saturday and I am actually at home, I mean real home in my hometown where I have no internet access! Ok, this is pre-written. I haven’t gone back to my sleeping town, Malacca for nearly a month. I guess I am not that filial after all, seeing my parents only once a month. I did go back more often last time, around twice a month if I could.

 As of 3 consecutive Sat, I’ve been writing tags! Yikes and I guess I have to do it again this week. But this tag is a little different, it is from Sean, What Age Would I Want To Be At Again. I’ve been thinking for quite many days and truth is there’s wasn’t an age which I want to be back again as there was some circumstances that I like and some that I don’t.

There is no perfect age and I’m rather happy to be at my age now.
 So, I come out with this. I want to be at age :

Age 5 : I just joined kindergarten and I made friends with 2 girls. I told my father I have two girl friends, one is pretty but proud; the other one is not pretty but nice. He said he’ll find two boy friends for me, teasingly. (something like that).

Age 10 : My brother (2 years younger) was my best pal, we always walked to our grandma house which was like half an hour away on Saturday. Nothing much to do there actually but I guess we enjoyed the journey.

Age 12 : I practically run all the way to my classroom with my bestie, after we heard that the UPSR result was out. Thank God we did well. *happy*

Age 15 : I probably had my first puppy love with a guy in my tuition class. I thought he was so cool & good looking, but their study, very bad!

Age 16 : Joined Cadet Police at school after much empty promises of using gunfire for practices and many fun activities. Ended up only marching under the hot sun, 2 afternoon a week after lunch, which probably explain why I got so tanned (and it stayed for as long as I remembered)! Darn.

Age 17 : My Math teacher said it was the best year of our live, though we doubted it. She said at this age we were practically trouble-free and have all the good friends around us. I guess I was happy, having enjoyed school with my besties. How much I missed them!

Age 18 : Left home to start an independent life on my own in university at Johor. I would say best year in uni life as well. Stayed in hostel and found 3 new best friends and we did everything together and were known as the ‘4 queens’. I really missed this year.

Age 24 : First oversea trip that I paid on my own to Hong Kong!!! Went with 3 wonderful friends and had a jolly good time!

It’s Saturday afternoon and the housemates (read : loads of noises) and a guest (who put up a night in our house) were just out of the door for a wedding lunch of an ex-coursemate, which rather gratefully I am not invited as we were not very close and I don’t have extra budget for the gift. So, here I am, home alone, appreciating the peacefulness of the house and time for myself.

 

The laundry had been done this morning. I’ve ironed more than 12 pieces of clothes, a rather dreadful task which I’ve postponed for more than a month (and I could afford it now that we could wear casual to work). The floor and room needs some tidy up but am feeling a little too lazy for that right now. I am eating leftover mooncake, given by my manager, Purple Cane’s Black Tea Lotus Paste, yeah, for lunch. Too lazy to whip up a proper lunch or to buy something that is packed with MSG. I am still feeling thirsty after eating the chicken glutinous rice (loh mai kai) for breakfast; I wonder how much MSG it contained! Yikes!

 

And I still in owe of a few tags from some nice bloggers out there. So might as well as get it done now before the number get too overwhelming.

Yeah, it is very messy as it has been a few weeks since I last tidied it up. I like to save files on desktop for quick access. And a lot of picture folders that I have not organised yet. But I like the colourful, bright wallpaper which makes it rather joyful. And if you noticed my super big icon, it is because I set the resolution to be so low so that the font is so big and I am crossing my fingers so I won’t be wearing glasses anytime soon

For once and all, I pierced it more than 5 years ago. Stop staring at it. 

3. The next questions after the 2^nd question, will be a face of horror & question : “Not pain ahh?” *squirm*
Geez.. you do not need to look so distressed, it is not so bad. In fact this is a very frequently asked question whenever I meet someone new. I am just tired of answering and explaining and putting up a smile while you tell me how it must be so painful and you show it on your face..! 

4. Are you Chinese or Malay?
Since I was in secondary school and working part time as promoter, many people tend to speak to me in Malay and they were astonished when I speak in Chinese. Even Malays doubted that I am Chinese in some cases. I am all Chinese, just banana (label to those Chinese that cannot write or read Chinese characters/language).  

5. When are you getting married?
Not yet honey. Will surely inform you when I get hitched. Meanwhile, shut up and get a life! Stop poking around.
